Abstract: Techniques disclosed provide for enhanced V2X communications by defining information Elements (IE) for V2X messaging between V2X entities. For a transmitting vehicle that sends a V2X message to a receiving vehicle, these IEs are indicative of a detected vehicle model type detected by the transmitting vehicle of a detected vehicle; a pitch rate of the transmitting vehicle, a detected vehicle, or a detected object; a roll rate of the transmitting vehicle, a detected vehicle, or a detected object; a yaw rate of a detected vehicle, or a detected object; a pitch rate confidence; a roll rate confidence; an indication of whether a rear brake light of a detected vehicle is on; or an indication of whether a turning signal of a detected vehicle is on; or any combination thereof. With this information, the receiving vehicle is able to make more intelligent maneuvers than otherwise available through traditional V2X messaging.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus may include a receiving UE that is configured to receive at least a portion of a message for a service group, measure a signal strength for the message received, and determine whether to send feedback based on the signal strength measured for the message. In some aspects, a transmitting UE is configured to determine an intended range for a service group, and transmit a message for the service group based, at least in part, on the intended range. In some aspects, the transmitting UE is configured to receive HARQ feedback from at least one receiving UE, measure a signal strength for the HARQ feedback, and determine whether to resend the message based on the signal strength measured for the HARQ feedback.

Abstract: An improved manner of transmitting and receiving messages in V2X/V2V/D2D is presented in which a transmitting device determines a geographic location of the mobile transmitting device and generates a message for a service group having a group ID associated with the service group, the message comprising a first indication of a geographic area associated with the message, the geographic area based at least in part on the geographic location of the transmitting device. Then, the apparatus transmits the message to the service group, e.g., via V2X/V2V/D2D communication. A receiving device then determines its geographic location and determines whether to send a feedback for the message based on the first indication of the geographic area associated with the message and the geographic location of the receiving device.

Abstract: Aspects directed towards a network-assisted sidelink scheduling operation are disclosed. In one example, a scheduled entity receives a grant of resources from a scheduling entity operating according to a legacy radio access technology (RAT), and translates the grant of resources from a legacy configuration of resources to a non-legacy configuration of resources. The scheduled entity then performs a sidelink communication via the non-legacy configuration of resources. In another example, a scheduling entity operating according to a legacy RAT transmits a system information block (SIB) to a scheduled entity indicating that the scheduling entity can allocate non-legacy resources. The scheduling entity then receives a request for resources from the scheduled entity that corresponds to a non-legacy sidelink communication, and provides a grant of resources to the scheduled entity that includes a non-legacy-specific frequency for transmitting the non-legacy sidelink communication.

Abstract: A network architecture is disclosed with support for location services (LCS). A radio access network (RAN) node receives a registration request from a user equipment (UE), indicating that the UE supports a ranging based location service session. The RAN node further receives an internal identifier (ID) for identifying information associated with the UE in communication between the RAN node and a core network during the ranging based location service session. The RAN node allocates radio resources to the UE for performing a ranging operation involving a plurality of devices including the UE, and associates the radio resources with the internal ID of the UE for identifying location results. Then the RAN node informs the UE of the radio resources allocated for the ranging operation.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for configuring a UE to assist in mitigating network congestion include determining whether a data packet has expired based on a first parameter, which indicates an expiration of the data, and adjusting a transmission of the data packet based on the determination of whether the data packet has expired. In some aspects, the UE may drop the data packet upon determination that the data packet has expired. The UE may be configured detect to a first congestion level, receive a second congestion level from a second UE, and process a frame for transmission based on the first or second congestion level. The UE may be configured determine a priority, generate a data packet that includes a destination parameter or a source parameter, adjust radio resource parameters based on the destination parameter or source parameter, and transmit data packets according to adjusted radio resources.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus can receive a packet at a Uu protocol stack of a first user equipment (UE), the packet intended for a base station. In addition, the apparatus can transfer the packet from the Uu protocol stack of the first UE to a PC5 interface protocol stack of the first UE. Furthermore, the apparatus can modify a header of the packet at the PC5 interface protocol stack to identify the packet as relayed uplink traffic intended for the base station from the first UE. Moreover, the apparatus can transmit the packet including the modified header to a second UE for relaying to the base station.
