摘要： Method, system, and program product for measuring audio video synchronization. This is done by first acquiring audio video information into an audio video synchronization system. The step of data acquisition is followed by analyzing the audio information, and analyzing the video information. In this phase audio and video information is analyzed, decision boundaries for Audio and Video MuEv-s are determined, and related Audio and Video MuEv-s are correlated. In Analysis Phase Audio and Video MuEv-s are calculated from the audio and video information, and the audio and video information is classified into vowel sounds including AA, EE, OO, silence, and unclassified phonemes This information is used to determine and associate a dominant audio class in a video frame. Matching locations are determined, and the offset of video and audio is determined.

摘要： Embodiments of the invention relate to a cable force feedforward approach that takes into account the cable force in the counter-mass trajectory computation to reduce or eliminate vibration of the lens body caused by the cable force disturbance and corrective force exerted by the trim motors. In one embodiment, a method provides cable force feedforward control for a counter-mass of a stage with a cable connected to the counter-mass and using the cable force feedforward control to control one or more trim motors to produce a trim motor output force to be applied to the counter-mass, the counter-mass moving in response to a reaction force from movement of the stage. The method comprises measuring a counter-mass position y of the counter-mass in response to forces applied to the counter-mass; measuring a cable force ƒ exerted on the counter-mass by the cable which is connected to the counter-mass; generating a cable force function {circumflex over (ƒ)}(y, {dot over (y)}) of the measured cable force ƒ versus the counter-mass position y; and computing the trim motor output force u as , where w is a weighting function having a value from 0 to 1 and is selected for optimization.

摘要： A powder inhaler includes a container for storing powdered medicament. A metering member has a dosing recess and is moveable between a filling position in which the dosing recess is in alignment with an opening of the container, and an inhalation position in which it is in alignment with an inhalation channel. A mouthpiece is in communication with the inhalation channel for enabling inhalation of the dose of powdered medicament when in the inhalation position. A protective member provided between the metering member and the inhalation channel is moveable between a closed position in which the protective member covers the dosing recess, thereby preventing powdered medicament contained in the dosing recess from entering the inhalation channel, and an open position in which the protective member does not cover the dosing recess, thereby exposing the dosing recess to the inhalation channel for enabling inhalation of the dose of the powdered medicament.

摘要： Photonic crystal material is used to couple two or more cavities of an optical device to provide tuneable laser output. The monolithically integrated optical device includes: a first optical cavity having a first optical axis and supporting first optical modes; a second optical cavity having a second optical axis and second, different, optical modes than the first optical cavity, the first and second optical cavities being laterally offset from one another and at least partially separated by a photonic crystal material in which the dielectric function of the material exhibits a periodic variation as a function of linear distance through the material, such that optical coupling between the first and second cavities is achieved through the photonic crystal. Multiple cavities can also be integrated in a similar fashion.

摘要： A method of forming a gas impermeable joint in a fluid system includes: providing a tube having a metallic barrier layer disposed between an inner plastic layer and an outer plastic layer; forcing at least one of the inner plastic layer and the outer plastic layer into contact with a plastic surface of a component; and welding the at least one of the inner plastic layer and the outer plastic layer with the plastic surface to form the gas impermeable joint. The welding may include: spin welding, hot plate welding, vibration welding, and ultrasonic welding. The metallic barrier layer extends substantially to the component, thus improving the gas impermeability of the joint between the tube and the component.
