摘要： Disclosed herein is a game ball and method for making the same. The game ball has an ionomeric cover which includes a combination of ionomeric crosslinks and covalent crosslinks. The game ball cover is superior in at least one of cut resistance and scuff resistance to a conventional cover that does not have covalent crosslinks but is otherwise substantially identical in composition. Crosslinks within the composition are achieved by irradiation. The game ball cover of the invention is particularly useful for improving the durability of golf balls to be struck with sharp-grooved clubs.

摘要： A method for improving the adhesive bonding of a top coat to a game ball such as a golf ball while simultaneously forming an identification stamp on the ball by (i) stamping an unfinished golf ball with a radiation curable ink and (ii) subjecting the unfinished golf ball to irradiation prior to application of a finish or top coat. Game balls so treated exhibit superior adhesion of a top coat and avoid the need for application of a primer coat between the unfinished golf ball and the outer top coat.

摘要： Dithiocarbamate, particularly tetraethylthiuram disulfide, and thiocarbamate anions thereof, strongly inhibit the growth of cancer cells of a variety of cell types. Such inhibitory effect is enhanced by heavy metal ions such as copper ions, cytokines and ceruloplasmin. A method is presented for using tetraethylthiuram disulfide to reduce tumor growth, and to potentiate the effect of other anticancer agents.

The method includes placing a golf ball precursor product comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane cover further comprising an isocyante or hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene in an isocyanate solution. The precursor product is then removed and heated to remove solvent. The precursor product may then be subjected to gamma or electron beam irradiation.
