    摘要: Echo is canceled in a communication device including at least one microphone and a loudspeaker. Signals directed to the loudspeaker are filtered through at least one first filter. The filtered signals are subtracted from signals received by the microphone. At least one second filter filters the subtracted results to produce a signal corresponding to speech signals received by the microphone. At least one third filter filters the subtracted results to produce a signal corresponding to echo from the loudspeaker. The output from the third filter is subtracted from the output from the second filter to produce an echo-canceled signal. The device may include a number of microphones, and the first, second, and third filters may each include a number of filters equal to the number of microphones. The outputs from the second filter may be added, the outputs from the third filter may be added, and the sum of the outputs from the third filter may be subtracted from the sum of the outputs of the second filter. The output from the third filter may be weighted before being subtracted from output of the second filter.

    摘要: A method for signal detection uses a likelihood ratio derived from the received signal to produce an estimate of a speech signal that has been corrupted by noise during transmission. The received signal is input to a receiver filter and a voice-activity detector. The receiver filter filters the received signal to produce a filter output signal. The voice-activity detector generates a likelihood ratio based on the received signal, which is then used to produce a speech-probability estimate indicating the probability that the received signal includes a speech signal. The filter output signal is combined with the speech-probability estimate output from the voice-activity detector to generate a soft estimate of the original speech signal.

    摘要: A receiver and receive processing method described herein improves the accuracy of channel estimates by correcting for the assumption that the Doppler shift (or rate-of-change-of-delay) stays constant for each frequency within a signal bandwidth of a received signal. To that end, a receiver according to the present invention comprises a channel processor having multiple processing units. A first processing unit processes reference values (e.g., pilot signals) received for each of a plurality of frequencies within a signal bandwidth at a plurality of different signal times (or the complex propagation channel coefficients estimated therefrom) to determine a set of complex wave amplitudes either for each of multiple frequencies in the signal bandwidth or for each of the different signal times. A second processing unit subsequently processes the complex wave amplitudes to determine complex scattering coefficients, where each complex scattering coefficient corresponds to a respective scattering object in the wireless communication channel.

    摘要: Processing of loop-back information returned by one or more mobile stations that are served by a wireless communication network permits the network to compensate its transmit signals for increased transmission efficiency and reduced signal interference at the mobile stations. Generally, the network forms one or more transmit signals as a combination of different signals intended for the different mobile stations, and remembers transmit information associated with these transmit signals. The mobile stations return loop-back signals to the network, which determines transmit signal compensation information by comparing loop-back information to memorized information. The mobile stations may loop-back samples from composite received signals, from processed received signal samples, or loop-back estimates. In the first case, processing at the network involves compensating the combined transmit signals at the transmit modulation rate, while the second case involves symbol rate processing of the individual information streams intended for the different mobile stations.
