摘要: The present invention relates to an enhancer which functions only in human brain and/or spinal cord motor neurons, where the enhancer comprises a nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 5, SEQ ID NO: 10, or SEQ ID NO: 16. The enhancer can be utilized as part of a nucleic acid construct which also has a nucleic acid encoding a marker protein or a therapeutic protein, a 3′ control region, and, optionally, a basal promoter, where these components are positioned with respect to one another to permit expression of the marker protein or the therapeutic protein. The enhancer of the present invention is useful in a method of isolating an enriched or purified population of motor neurons from a mixed population of human brain and/or spinal cells. In addition, the enhancer of the present invention can be used in a method of therapeutically targeting motor neurons.

摘要: A signal processing apparatus for use with an imaging device having an image signal output circuit inherently generating noise in operation so that noise may be superposed on the image signal. The apparatus comprises a noise suppressor having a sampling and holding circuit for producing noise-suppressed pixel signals carrying different color information to contribute to suppression of noise superposed on the image signal and at the same time to demodulation of chroma signals representative of color components of an image and adders for producing a sum of and a difference between the noise-suppressed pixel signals to thereby produce a luminance signal and chroma signals for an image. The apparatus may further comprise a gain control circuits interposed between the sampling and holding circuit and the difference producing adder so that the amplitudes of the noise-suppressed pixel signals are leveled to improve the color purity of an image reproduced from the image signal.

摘要: An information system comprises: a storage system including a processor, a memory, and a plurality of virtual volumes to be allocated pages from a storage pool of volumes; and a metadata server which, upon receiving from a client a write request containing file data to be written to a virtual volume in the storage system, returns the write request to the client with parallel information which is added to a data layout of the file data to be written in the virtual volume. The storage system, upon receiving the write request with the parallel information, allocates, based on the parallel information, pages from the storage pool to the virtual volume for writing the file data, so that the data layout is striped and the allocated pages fit striped data access according to the striped data layout.

摘要: Conventional manufacturing line designing had a problem in that, when making the number of places for keeping partly-finished products (number of buffers) more appropriate in a factory layout, calculation took considerable time because a design proposal was selected through trial and error and a manufacturing line simulation was executed each time a design proposal was selected. A manufacturing line designing apparatus according to the present invention is characterized in being provided with: a production simulation execution unit that predicts future production capacity and the number of partly-finished products by simulating a manufacturing line; a buffer utilization rate calculation unit that calculates a buffer utilization rate that is the ratio of the number of buffers for each of the processes with respect to the maximum number of buffers and the average number of buffers during the simulation period; and a number-of-buffers reducing unit that reduces the number of buffers successively, starting from a process having a low buffer utilization rate, and repeats the calculation until the total number of buffers is minimized, to determine the number of buffers to be placed between the processes.

摘要: A vehicle headlamp assembly including a housing case and a lens cover forming a light chamber, a projection lens, a shade and a light source are arranged within the light chamber in that order along an optical axis of the headlamp assembly. A radiating member includes plate-shaped radiating fins vertically placed in the light chamber, for radiating heat energy generated by the light source to surrounding air. A plate is arranged at a right angle to the radiating fins in the light chamber, for controlling air-convection flow around the radiating fins.

摘要: There is provided a file management method of a hierarchy management file system capable of preventing an access performance from dropping when a user accesses to a file. According to the method, a server creates file systems in high-speed and low-speed volumes and a file-sharing server virtually integrates those file systems into one system as a pseudo file system. Then, the server moves a file to be moved to the file system created in the low-speed volume in advance, not when an access is made to the file. When a user accesses to the file after that, the user directly accesses to destination without requiring to copy the file, so that the accessing performance may be prevented from dropping.
