One part comprising a non-cycloaliphatic epoxy resin, a reactive diluent in the form of an epoxy compound, a modifying resin selected from the group consisting of a coumarone-indene polymer resin, a dicyclopentadiene polymer resin, an acrylonitrile modified polyvinyl chloride resin, an amino terminated acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer resin, and an epoxy terminated polybutadiene resin, a silane coupling agent having an epoxy or amino group, and a synthetic zeolite is combined, on use, with the other part comprising an amine curing agent selected from the group consisting of a cycloaliphatic polyamine, an aliphatic/aromatic polyamide, and an amine adduct.

A curable component composed of (A) an epoxy resin containing at least 90% by weight of a bisphenol glycidyl ether and (B) an aliphatic polyamine is blended with (C) 1-xylyl-1,3-diphenylbutane, bis(.alpha.-methylbenzyl)xylene, and/or 1-xylyl-1-(3-.alpha.-methylbenzylphenyl)ethane, and (D) a coloring pigment and/or an inorganic filler to form a coating composition adapted to be coated to the inner surface of pipes through which city water passes. The composition is cured to the pipe inner surface to form a film which provides a chlorine take-up of up to 1 ppm from city water flowing in contact with the film.

A reproduction system noise reduction circuit of a VTR is implemented in combination with a recursive type noise reduction circuit and a non-recursive type noise reduction circuit. The recursive type noise reduction circuit has a characteristic complimentary to that of a recording system vertical emphasis circuit to function as a vertical de-emphasis circuit subjecting a reproduced luminance signal to vertical de-emphasis. The non-recursive type noise reduction circuit cancels noise components without line correlation from the reproduced luminance signal subjected to vertical de-emphasis. It is not necessary to increase noise reduction amount in each noise reduction circuit because vertical de-emphasis and noise reduction are carried out individually. Therefore, degradation of vertical resolution and increase in raining-like noise are prevented.

A peak holding circuit detects and holds a peak of the absolute value signal. A first decoder log-converts the absolute value signal. A second decoder log-converts a signal held by the peak holding circuit. Indicator means display a level of the digital signal in accordance with outputs from both the first and second decoder. A selector switches the choices of resolution of the first decoder and the second decoder.
