In a pickup cartridge of moving-coil type, the components of movement of a cantilever in the vertical and horizontal directions are individually detected to produce two kinds of electromotive forces respectively proportional to the velocity of the detected vertical and horizontal components of movement. The sum and difference signals of the two kinds of electromotive forces are separately obtained for stereophonic reproduction of signals recorded on a recorded disk. The vibration system is given different vibration characteristics for vertical movements thereof than those for horizontal movements thereof, without sacrificing electrical output characteristics such as channel separation characteristic and low frequency response characteristic. First and second coils are arranged so that the axis of the first coil is parallel to the record disk and the axis of the second coil is perpendicular to the record disk.

The invention provides an organic electroluminescent device including an organic compound layer provided between a pair of electrodes. The organic compound layer has at least a luminescent layer. The luminescent layer has at least a metal complex containing a tri- or higher-dentate ligand and plurality of host compounds. The metal complex is preferably a metal complex capable of obtaining light emission from a triplet exciton. The ligand of the metal complex is preferably chained or cyclic. Further, an ionization potential of the metal complex is preferably larger than a minimum value out of ionization potentials of the plurality of host compounds.

This invention provides a projection display capable of preventing a reflector from damage and cooling a lamp at high efficiency. The projection display comprises a light source. The light source includes a lamp and metallic reflector. The metallic reflector has an opening disposed above the light-emitting point of the lamp in the gravity direction. The duct has an end coupled to the opening and directs the air induced by a fan through the opening into the metallic reflector. The air induced into the metallic reflector then circulates within the metallic reflector to cool the light-emitting point of the lamp, and subsequently is released out the metallic reflector through through-holes formed with a front glass and a flange of the metallic reflector.
