Abstract: A network device receives, from a congestion controller, traffic policy information associated with a data stream between a sender and a receiver, where the traffic policy information includes a maximum round trip delay time (RTT) and a maximum throughput rate (Rate). The network device obtains a receiver advertised window size (RWND) for the receiver for the data stream. The network device modifies the RWND based on the RTT and the Rate to produce a modified receiver window size (RWND′) and sends the RWND′ to the sender for use in controlling congestion on the data stream between the sender and the receiver.

The network device may receive a request associated with a user equipment and may receive error data from the first core network based on the request. The network device may receive network health data identifying load levels and health of the first core network and a second core network. The network device may determine possible cause data identifying causes associated with the error data based on the historical data, the error data, and the network health data. The network device may generate a cause code for the user equipment based on the possible cause data and may provide the cause code to the user equipment.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein employ a service profile for user equipment (UE). The UE service profile may be defined per network slice, such that a subscriber can have different registration area profiles, paging profiles, or performance profiles in different slices. According to one implementation, a network device receives a registration request requesting access to a network slice and obtains a UE service profile for the network slice. The service profile may indicate a paging profile and a registration profile associated with the UE device for the network slice.

Abstract: A device establishes a first encrypted tunnel with a first active security gateway at a first data center to enable the device to communicate, via the first encrypted tunnel, with a first access and mobility management function (AMF) at the first data center. The device forwards, via the first encrypted tunnel and the first active security gateway, a first User Equipment device (UE) message to the first AMF. The device determines an occurrence of a failure or overload condition at the first active security gateway, and establishes, based on the determined occurrence of the failure or overload condition, a second encrypted tunnel with a standby security gateway at a second data center to enable the device to communicate, via the second encrypted tunnel, with the first AMF. The device forwards, via the second encrypted tunnel and the standby security gateway, at least one second UE message to the first AMF.

Abstract: A network device may maintain a list of existing slice identifiers, associated with slices of a core network, that are in use in active UE sessions, and may receive a slice identifier associated with a slice of the core network and provided in a request to establish a session between a UE and the slice of the core network. The network device may determine whether the slice identifier matches an existing slice identifier included in the list, and may create a new network address, with an address of the network device and the slice identifier, based on the slice identifier failing to match an existing slice identifier included in the list. The network device may utilize the new network address to establish the session between the UE and the slice of the core network.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for network-based selection of a UE device's 5G operation mode. A network device in a wireless core network receives a policy query for a user equipment (UE) device. The UE device is capable of 5G non-standalone (NSA) and 5G standalone (SA) operation modes. The network device identifies one or more of subscription data for the UE device, stored network data associated with the UE device, or dynamic network data relevant to the UE device. The network device assigns, based on the identifying, a radio access technology/frequency selection and prioritization (RFSP) value for the UE device. The network device sends the RFSP value to an access management function in the wireless core network for controlling selection of the 5G NSA operation mode or 5G SA operation mode.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for a selection of an Interworking Function (“IWF”) that facilitates an interworking between a licensed wireless network and another wireless network, such as an unlicensed wireless network, based on a geographical location of a User Equipment (“UE”) that is connected to the licensed wireless network and the other wireless network. The IWF may be selected from a set of candidate IWFs based on respective locations of the candidate IWFs and the UE and/or a wireless access point associated with the other wireless network. The IWF may communicate with the UE, via the other wireless network, using one or more tunnels. The IWF may identify control plane and user plane traffic received via the tunnel(s), and may forward such communications to appropriate network devices of the licensed wireless network.
