Abstract: Systems and methods provide reliable voice connections and highest possible data rates in New Radio dual-connectivity environments, given limitations of available spectrum. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The first wireless station provides a shared spectrum of a first frequency band, the shared spectrum including a first spectrum for a first cellular wireless standard and a second spectrum for a second cellular wireless standard. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts cell parameters barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide an eDRX service that may be implemented for idle mode and/or connected mode of an end device. A network device stores eDRX data as a part of subscription data. The network device may provide the eDRX data to another network device that manages eDRX for end devices. The eDRX data may indicate to use global default eDRX timer values, subscriber-based eDRX timer values, ranges of eDRX timer values, and single-valued eDRX timer values. Each type of eDRX timer value may be provisioned on a per end device basis, a per radio access technology type basis, and/or a per application type basis.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can determine that a thermal condition or a battery condition is satisfied with regard to the UE, wherein the UE is associated with a 4G/Long Term Evolution (4G/LTE) connection and a 5G/New Radio (5G/NR) connection; determine whether the 5G/NR connection is to be activated or deactivated based on the thermal condition or the battery condition; transmit a tracking area update request based on determining that the thermal condition or the battery condition is satisfied; transmit capability information, wherein, when the 5G/NR connection is to be activated, the capability information indicates a 5G/NR capability of the UE, and wherein, when the 5G/NR connection is to be deactivated, the capability information does not indicate the 5G/NR capability of the UE; and deactivate or activate a 5G/NR modem of the UE based on determining that the thermal condition or the battery condition is satisfied.

Abstract: A network device determines radio frequency (RF) conditions at a first endpoint and a second endpoint of a call or session. The network device determines optimum first codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the first endpoint of the call or session, and determines optimum second codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the second endpoint of the call or session. The network device sends the first codec parameters to the first endpoint for altering operation of a first codec at a first device at the first endpoint. The network device sends the second codec parameters to the second endpoint for altering operation of a second codec at a second device at the second endpoint.

Abstract: A computer device may include a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to receive a handover request from a user equipment (UE) device via an evolved Packet Data Gateway (ePDG), wherein the handover request includes a request for a dual Packet Data Network (PDN) context and designate the UE device as having dual PDN context, based on the received handover request. The processor may be further configured to identify an Internet Protocol (IP) address for a Long Term Evolution (LTE) bearer associated with the UE device; create a PDN session to the ePDG using the IP address, based on the UE device having the dual PDN context; and send a Protocol Configuration Options (PCO) message to the UE device via the ePDG, wherein the PCO message includes an indication of dual PDN context support; and select to maintain the LTE bearer.

Abstract: In some implementations, a device may receive cell information regarding a current primary cell associated with a user equipment (UE), wherein the UE is further associated with a plurality of secondary cells. The device may determine, based on the cell information, that the UE is to be associated with a new primary cell, wherein the new primary cell is selected from the plurality of secondary cells. The device may generate configuration information indicating that: a particular secondary cell, of the plurality of secondary cells, is to become the new primary cell, and one or more other secondary cells, of the plurality of secondary cells, are to remain secondary cells. The device may provide, to the UE, the configuration information to configure the UE to communicate via the new primary cell.

Abstract: A device may receive information from a unified database, wherein the information includes a Service Profile Identifier (SPID); select a Quality-of-Service (QoS)-related identifier (ID) at least based on the SPID; and either map a radio bearer to a flow associated with a User Equipment device (UE) or configure a component to map the radio bearer to the flow. After mapping the radio bearer to the flow, the device may send data from the flow to the UE based on the QoS related ID.
