    摘要: The invention relates to a single ended discharge lamp, such as a CID or CSI lamp having a bi-pin base. The base is such as to fit a socket suitable for lamps such as tungsten halogen filament lamps for which lower voltages are used and is adapted to make use in such sockets possible. The base or cap member is provided in the usual manner with two pins but at least one of the pins is a dummy pin. At least one extra terminal is disposed to the side of the base whereby electrical connection to one electrode of the lamp is by a flying lead. The other terminal may be the other pin or may be disposed at the other side of the base. In that event both pins may be electrically disconnected from the electrodes and serve only for support or positioning of the lamp.

    摘要: A system and method for reducing interference between wireless terminals communicating in a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET). Interference is reduced by dividing the MANET into a number of geographical areas having a specific size and shape. Each geographical area is assigned a time slot during which wireless terminals located in the respective geographical area may transmit to other wireless terminals. The time slots are assigned such that geographical areas having the same time slot are far enough away from each other that wireless terminals located in such same time slot geographical areas are outside the interference range of each other.

    摘要: Connection objects or other such data structures facilitate establishing and configuring connections between objects that model components in a process control system. A first set of data structures (e.g., the object connection type structures) identify valid types for component-to-component pairings and the respective roles of each component in the pairing (e.g., parent or child, source or sink). A second set of data structures (e.g., the parameter connection type structures) supply similar information for parameter-to-parameter connections. Together, these data structures can be used, for example, to validate component-to-component connections suggested by the user and to automatically configure parameter-to-parameter connections. Actual connections, both at the component or parameter level, are reflected using parameter overrides within the parameterized object model—with which the connection objects are constructed.

    摘要: A geographic addressing scheme is used to route a message from a sender to all devices occupying a specified geographic region. Message delivery and addressing are based on logical predicates being satisfied, wherein the logical predicates comprise a geographic region and at least one filter predicate. When a message is received by a device, the logical predicate is evaluated to determine if the requirements of the logical predicate are satisfied. In one configuration, a Boolean value (true or false) if determined. If the Boolean result is true, the message is provided to an appropriate application, or applications, residing on the device. If the Boolean result is false, the message is ignored silently.

Objects can include an edit control type identifier that determines how they are presented for editing. Functionality responds to user commands by transferring characteristics of a first object depicted by the graphical user interface to a second object. Configuration-time formulas contained objects are evaluated to constants prior to downloading to the control system.
