Abstract:
A screen wiper for a motor vehicle comprises a wiper arm carrying a wiper blade and applying a wiping pressure, so as to urge the latter against the windshield of the vehicle as the arm is oscillated in the usual way across the windshield by a drive spindle, which carries a drive head on which the wiper arm is fitted. The wiper arm carries a guide bracket which, in the parked position of the wiper, cooperates with an engagement surface of a ramp fixed to the vehicle body, so as to lift the wiper arm and so relieve the wiping pressure. The guide bracket has an indexing claw which cooperates with a claw formed on the ramp to define a precise angular orientation of the wiper for fitting of the latter on to the drive head.
Abstract:
A motorised reduction gear unit, especially one for driving screen wipers of a vehicle, includes a hollow gearbox casing which is closed by a closure plate. At least a portion of the external surface of the closure plate is electrically conductive. The unit also includes an electronic suppressor comprising a group of electronic components arranged on the conductive portion of the external surface of the closure plate. The suppressor components are enclosed by a housing of generally cap-like configuration, which is electrically conductive. The housing includes at least one means for connecting it electrically with the conductive portion of the external surface of the closure plate.
Abstract:
A motor vehicle screen wiper comprising a wiper blade which is applied against a swept surface by means of a wiper arm articulated on a drive head, so as to be driven by the latter in alternate wiping movement over the swept surface, includes a projecting element or lifting tab carried by the wiper arm. When the wiper is in its parked position, this lifting tab cooperates with an engagement face of a ramp which is fixed on the vehicle, so as to displace the wiper arm in such a way that the wiper blade tends to be separated from the swept surface, so as to reduce or eliminate the pressure with which the blade is applied to the swept surface in the parked position of the wiper. The lifting tab is made integral with the wiper arm.
Abstract:
A screen washing apparatus, especially for a glass surface of a motor vehicle, in which a shaft is formed with a through duct and is carried by the casing of a motorized reduction gear unit. The reduction gear unit drives the screen wiper and imparts to the shaft an alternating rotary motion through a drive element. An end portion of the shaft penetrates sealingly into a bore that is formed in a tubular connector. The tubular connector joins the apparatus to a flexible pipe leading from a screen washing liquid supply circuit. The tubular connector and the end portion of the shaft are coupled together in rotation by a mating coupling, and the shaft has, at its end penetrating into the tubular connector, a knurled surface and a spherical portion, the spherical portion deforming the bore of the tubular connector radially outwardly.
Abstract:
The invention proposes a motor vehicle screen wiper of the type comprising at least one elongate element, made of press-formed and bent sheet metal, and having, in cross section through a transverse plane, the form of an inverted U which comprises two vertical side portions joined together through a spine portion, in which, in one of the end portions of the elongate element, the spine portion has a zone of locally reduced thickness, such as to give a curvature to the external face of the elongate element in its end portion.
Abstract:
A windshield wiper device generally comprises a shaft supported by a fixed element, such as the base of a housing of a geared motor, this shaft being rotatable around an axis by a reduction gear system and connecting rod assembly; an angle damping device is disposed between the fixed element and the shaft. According to the invention, the angle damping device comprises at least one elastic washer axially compressed along the axis of the shaft. The axial compression of the elastic washer is controlled by a cam having a variety of angular sectors for moving axially along the shaft.
Abstract:
A mechanism for supplying power assistance to the steering column of a vehicle is arranged to operate in response to signals indicating that power assistance is required, and therefore has periods in which it is inoperative and periods in which it is operative, all while the vehicle is in motion. The mechanism comprises a motor driving a speed reducing mechanism which is coupled to the steering column. The mechanism includes an epicyclic gear train, the planet wheel carrier of which is fitted around the steering column, the epicyclic gear train being driven by the power assistance motor. The outer crown of the epicyclic gear train is mounted so as to be free to rotate about the steering column, but when power assistance is required the outer crown is prevented from rotating by means of a releasable blocking or braking means actuated by an electro-magnet, thus causing the planet wheel carrier to rotate the steering column.
Abstract:
An air flow deflector for a windshield wiper includes a profiled portion joined to a means for attaching the deflector on a wiper blade or on a wiper arm. The deflector includes surfaces which obstruct the air flow. In addition, it includes guide means for the air flow. The invention is particularly applicable to windshield wiper systems for automotive vehicles.
Abstract:
A windshield wiper blade holder has an auxiliary lever arm having first and second free ends. Each one of the free ends presses against the back of a windshield wiper blade for increasing the force applied to the windshield wiper blade when the curvature of a curved windshield increases. The auxiliary lever arm is preferrably hinged to the armature at a point between the hinging of the armature to a driving arm of a vehicle and an end of the armature to which a compensator is pivotably attached. Various compensators and secondary compensators can be pivotably attached to the armature for holding a wiper blade and for cooperating with the auxiliary arm for enhancing the force pressing the wiper blade against the convex windshield.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a protection assembly for a cleaning assembly including a cleaning unit and an optical surface, with the cleaning unit having at least one wave transducer to be acoustically coupled to the optical surface. The protection assembly including a mechanical protection element configured to cover the wave transducer, such that the wave transducer is between the mechanical protection element and the optical surface. The protection assembly also includes a covering made of an electromagnetic wave absorbing material, the covering being capable of limiting electromagnetic radiation from the wave transducer outside the cleaning assembly.
