摘要: A vehicle interior lining having very good sound absorbing properties and is air-permeable to air comprises an outside decorative layer, a barrier layer arranged on the rear side of the decorative layer, and a foamed layer which directly adjoins the barrier layer and is produced by back foaming. The barrier layer is formed from cellulose fleece and prevents the material used to form the foamed layer from seeping through to the decorative layer. The vehicle interior lining is air-permeable after the foamed layer is cured and can be used as, for example, a roof lining.

摘要: A method of producing a foamed molded product such as an urethane foam with the fastener smoothly with high yields; a mold for molding the same; and a mold component thereof are provided. In a female mold, a rail is fixed to a mounting eye disposed at a side surface of a cavity. A fastener is disposed at a bottom of a recess in the rail. After the fastener is held by the rail, an urethane stock liquid is injected and foamed. After the foaming, the urethane foam is demolded. Upon the demolding, the movable part is moved forward to push and compress the urethane foamed product within an undercut part. With this configuration, the mounting eye and the rail do not interfere the molded product within the undercut part, whereby the urethane foam is smoothly demolded without cracking.

摘要: A continuous composite structure manufacturing apparatus which comprises a conveyor or conveyors for conveying one or more fabric webs along a conveying path. Each of the webs is comprised of a reinforcing fabric, a non-woven fabric, or a layered fabric. The fabric web is passed through the conveyor so that it defines an enclosed foam injection zone. A foam injection system is provided for injecting foam into the foam injection zone to form a foam core preform (or a plurality of same). One or more dies are positioned along the conveying path, to shape each of the foam core preform(s) to a desired cross-sectional profile. The individual stringers or multiple, spaced apart, stringers are produced concurrently in a continuous production process.

摘要: A fastener member for molding which is a fastener tape which includes engaging elements on a top side of its substrate and also includes ridges which extend in a longitudinal direction on both edges of a back side of the substrate. The ridges project outwardly such that its outermost part is about 0.3-5 mm from the outer edge of the substrate. A process for producing a plastic molded article having the fastener members molded thereon, comprises fitting the above-mentioned fastener member in the recess of a mold such that the engaging elements on its surface are directed to the recess of the mold and the ridges of the fastener member substantially seal the gap between the fastener member and the sidewall of the recess of the mold, and injecting a resinous composition into the mold.

摘要: A method for making a composite structure, comprising the steps of: arranging a fabric layer in a configuration constrained against outward movement and defining a cavity between opposing surfaces of the fabric layer; dispensing a predetermined amount of a self-expanding, self-curable, uncured structural foam into the cavity, the foam expanding and curing in the cavity at a molding pressure determined by the predetermined amount of the foam and thereby attaching itself to the fabric layer to form the composite structure, the molding pressure causing the expanding foam to substantially fill only interstices of an inner portion of the fabric layer, without substantially penetrating an outer portion of the fabric layer; and, freeing the cured composite structure from the constraint of the arranging step, the outer portion of the fabric layer of the composite structure being thereafter substantially completely saturable with a curable material for lamination to another structure in a subsequent processing step. The method can further comprise the step of laminating the cured composite structure to another composite structure by saturating the outer portion of the fabric layer of the cured composite structure with a curable resin.

摘要: A fastener assembly of the type for being molded into cushions, and including a base having first and second major surfaces defining first and second opposed ends and first and second opposed side edges. A multiplicity of attachment members are carried by the base and extend outwardly from the base for cooperating with complementary attachment members. First and second laterally-extending sealing gaps are respectively positioned adjacent the ends of the base. The sealing gaps are defined by areas of the first major surface of the base being devoid of the attachment members for permitting a sealing dam carried by a mold in which the foamed article is molded to fit into the sealing gaps and sealingly engage the first major surface of the base to form a foam-tight seal between the opposed ends of the base and the sealing dam of the mold to prevent intrusion of liquid foam past the ends of the base onto the attachment members of the base during molding of the article. A multiplicity of permanent anchors is carried by the base and extend outwardly from the second major surface of the base. First and second magnetically-attractable side edge sealing members may be attached to the base adjacent respective ones of the first and second opposing side edges of the base for being attracted to magnets positioned in the mold in which the foamed article is molded to form a foam-tight seal between the side edges of the base and the mold to prevent intrusion of liquid foam past the side edges of the base onto the attachment members of the base during molding of the article.

摘要: A composite structure and method of making the composite structure are disclosed. A reinforcing fabric such as fiberglass is mechanically attached, for example, by stitching to a non-woven polyester fabric. The attached fabrics are placed in a mold with the non-woven fabric facing the inside of the mold. A self-expanding, self-curing foam is filled into the mold in an amount sufficient so that upon expansion in the closed mold, the foam penetrates into the interstices of the non-woven fabric which upon curing forms a bond therewith. The resulting structure can be used in a number of applications wherein the reinforcing fabric is later impregnated, for example, with a resin, and allowed to cure. Typical use of such a structure is as a stringer in fiberglass boat construction.
