Abstract:
A shock absorber includes a cylinder and a movable piston rod inserted into the cylinder to be movable to generate a damping force and having one end which extends to the outside of the cylinder. A seal member is fixed to the cylinder to be in sliding contact with the piston rod, and a friction member generates a frictional force with respect to relative movement between the cylinder and the piston rod. The friction member includes first and second friction parts, respectively fixed to one of the cylinder and the piston rod to be in sliding contact with the other of the cylinder and the piston rod. The second friction part is configured to start to slide with respect to relative movement of the cylinder and the piston rod at a timing different from that of the first friction part and generate an adjustable frictional force.
Abstract:
An anti-vibration device includes: an inner cylinder connected to one of a vibration generating portion and a vibration receiving portion; an outer cylinder connected to the other one of the vibration generating portion and the vibration receiving portion; an intermediate cylinder pressed in an inner periphery of the outer cylinder; a main elastic body connecting the inner cylinder and the intermediate cylinder; and a stopper elastic body independent of the main elastic body, the stopper elastic body being fixed to the intermediate cylinder and facing, in a direction orthogonal to an axial direction of the inner cylinder, the inner cylinder with at least a cavity in between, the cavity being formed through the main elastic body in the inner cylinder axial direction, wherein the stopper elastic body has an axial stopper portion that protrudes beyond the intermediate cylinder and the outer cylinder in the inner cylinder axial direction.
Abstract:
A gas spring and gas damper assembly can include a gas spring and a gas damper. The gas spring can include a first end member, a second end member and a flexible wall that at least partially form a spring chamber. The gas damper can include first, second and third damper elements that are telescopically interconnected with one another. The first and third damper elements can be operatively connected to respective ones of the first and second end members. The third damper element includes damper piston having an axial clutch. The second damper element is suspended between the first and third damper elements by biasing elements that engaging the damper piston.
Abstract:
A train coupling system includes a turnbuckle shaft having opposite ends threaded into rod end bearings. Each of such bearings includes a ball secured in a clevis and each such clevis in turn, is pivotally mounted in a clevis on a corresponding train car such that there is automatic alignment when and as the train cars travel on the road bed.
