摘要: A system for forming concrete slabs has been developed for commercial buildings having a steel moment-frame structure. This system utilizes the cold-formed-steel framing members, such as the wall girts shipped with a particular building package, to be first utilized as slab foundation forming elements before being framed into the building. The system defines foundation geometry upon simple assembly of the forming elements, and efficiently provides for placement of anchoring hardware which corresponds exactly to the connections of the structural frames.

摘要: A structural panel (1) has a structural frame (2) of interconnected structural members (10, 15, 16, 17) of cold-rolled steel material. EPS insulation (3) is integrally moulded around the structural members to a combined depth of the members and wall tie brackets (4) extending outwardly. There is minimal surface area contact between each bracket (4) and a structural member (10) to minimise cold bridging. Wall ties (5) connect to the brackets (4) by engagement of a hooks (56) on the wall ties (5) with slots (51) in the brackets, again with minimal area of contact.

摘要: According to existing methods of frame building construction, a concrete foundation is formed on which wooden floor joists are laid. Walls are constructed on the foundation and floor using wooden wall studs, and a roof is constructed on the walls using wooden rafters, beams and trusses. These methods require skilled carpenters and high quality wood materials, both of which are increasingly expensive. There is therefore a need for a system for framing houses or other buildings which uses prefabricated steel framing and which is quick and easy to construct. The invention provides a prefabricated system for framing a complete building on a foundation. Folding telescopic framing units are used for vertical partitions and horizontal floor panels. The invention therefore provides a prefabricated system of framing units forconstructing a building comprising: a) proving a foundation; b) securing vertical beams having open upper ends to the foundation at spaced locations; c) securing horizontal beams between the upper ends of the vertical beams; d) erecting and securing folding, telescopic floor joists on the foundation; and e) erecting and securing folding, telescopic roof trusts at spaced locations on the horizontal beams. The invention also provides a framed building comprising: a) a foundation; b) vertical beams having open upper ends secured to the foundation at spaced locations; c) horizontal beams secured between the upper ends of the vertical beams; d) erected folding, telescopic floor joists secured on the foundation; and e) erected folding, telescopic roof trusts secured at spaced locations on the horizontal beams.

摘要: An interlocking corrugated fluted panel for use in constructing a foundation wall for a building where a plurality of the panels are attached to a presupported building member and the panels hang downwardly into a foundation support opening. At the bottom portion of each fluted panel, the flutes extending outwardly from the building are cut along a bend line and the bottom portion of the panel is bent inwardly approximately 90°, the bent portion forming an anchorage when concrete is placed around the bottom of the panels. At the lower edge of each panel a cut flute is bent into either an interlocking male or female shape.

摘要: The present invention provides a light gauge sheet metal building construction system which has a complete exterior shell that includes all exterior walls, floors and the roof. The invention permits the pre-assembly of a sheet metal cell unit building component comprised of bent sheet metal panels connected together to form a cell unit. This component can be used for a floor system, a varying wall system, or a rigid frame roofing system for residential, commercial, or industrial building applications. It is an alternate framing system for conventional wood framed and conventional metal stud framing systems.

摘要: A self-jigging web for fastening two steel chords together to form a beam. There are different sizes of webs for assembly of beams of different depths. A web has several holes for locating screws for fastening the web to a pair of chords parallel to each other. Chords having the same outer cross-section but of different steel gauges are used to obtain beams of different strengths. Assembled beams are used in a frame of a building structure such as a wall, floor or ceiling. A system is provided such that a building designer, given the wind bearing (bending) and axial loads required to be borne by the structure, can determine beam spacing and beam depth required for the structure to bear the loads. Beams are then assembled to meet the determined requirements according to a standard set of instructions which detail the chord steel gauge, size of web, number and spacing of webs lengthwise along a beam, and a number and placement of screws for fastening each web to a pair of chords.

摘要: A low cost building is made of modular parts in the absence of special tools. Light-in-weight wall blocks having a facade of conventional appearance include a thick, insulating mixture of a cementitious material, polystyrene, and organic fiber aggregates capable of retaining water. The blocks have interlocking top and bottom surfaces so that they are easily stacked to form walls. A floor is built by spanning foundation beams with floor trusses that have a key along their respective tops and by sliding modular floor panels between contiguous floor trusses, each floor panel having opposite edges that slidingly engage the keys of the floor trusses. A roof is made in a similar manner by sliding modular roof panels between contiguous roof trusses. Tensioning rods are extended from a top surface of the walls to the building foundation to compress the walls. In a second embodiment, channels for receiving electrical wiring and plumbing conduits are formed in the wall panels, and an air conditioning duct is formed by slabs that surmount the walls. Shock absorbing springs positioned between foundation blocks and foundation beams cushion the effect of earthquakes. Door and window openings are framed with special channels that facilitate door and window installation. Cementitious compositions which are useful in the method of the present invention are also disclosed.

摘要: A construction member for use in residential wall framing, floor joist systems and rafter system. The construction member comprises an elongate member having a longitudinal channel disposed therein, which is preferably comprised of sheet metal or other suitable material having similar characteristics. The elongate member has a C-shaped cross section adapted to receive and retain fastening blocks at respective ends of the channel. The blocks are shorter than the elongate member and are adapted to substantially fill the cross-sectional space of the channel. Preferably, the blocks are composed of wood or similar natural or synthetic material that can receive and hold conventional nails. The fastening blocks may receive nails driven through the upper and lower plates in a standard residential wall construction. End caps that attach to the ends of the elongate member are also provided so that a load beating surface abutting an elongate member is not damaged by the elongate member's end. One version of an end cap may be directly nailed to an abutting surface without the need for a fastening block.
