    摘要: A device is provided which enables an object such as a window protection device to be secured to a structure, where the device passes through a hole in one or more structures located between the object, and the structure to which attachment is desired. The device can be screwed, or otherwise attached, to wood structural framing which is concealed beneath veneer, such as bricks and other masonry. The other end of the device receives a tool which allows such an installation, and also the removal of the device. The other end also receives a fastener, such as a bolt, which secures the material or the track to the end of the device, the end of the device being substantially flush with the exterior veneer surface. The end of the device is flared to seal the hole in the veneer and increase the stability of the device in the hole.

    摘要: A fabricated foundation wall is constructed in soil below grade level and has three major components. The first is a basement wall grid which includes a lower beam mounted on spaced piers. A plurality of vertical support members are spaced along and extend upwardly from the lower beam. An identical upper beam spans and is attached to upper ends of the vertical support members. The second component is an outer wall structure which attaches to and extends across the outer surface of the basement wall grid and extends below the lower beam to form an air void. The third component is an inner wall structure which includes lower and upper tracks attached to the lower and upper beams, respectively, and which receive a plurality of laterally spaced vertical studs each having inner surfaces which are flush with the inner surfaces of the vertical support members for attaching wall sheathing. A basement floor support channel is mounted across the inner surfaces of the vertical support members for receiving the ends of a plurality of laterally spaced floor stringers for forming a basement floor structure. An upper floor support channel is mounted across the upper surface of the upper beam for receiving the ends of a plurality of laterally spaced first floor stringers. These channels and stringers may be made of metal or other suitable material.

    摘要: A longitudinal stabilizing system for a premanufactured building having support joists extending along the length of the underside of the building and being supported above the ground by upright piers. The system comprises at least one foundation plate, a joist connector, a plate connector, and a rectilinear strut. The foundation plate is placed between the pier and the ground. The joist connector attaches to the joist of the building. Plate clamps may be used in conjunction with the joist connector to grasp the joist. The plate connector attaches to the foundation plate. The strut is attached to the joist connector at one end and the plate connector at the other end such that the strut slopes downward from the joist towards the ground. In high winds, the weight of the building and the weight of the pier resting on the foundation plate retard lateral movement of the foundation plate and the end of the strut attached to the plate connector, while the end of the strut attached to the joist connector resists movement of the joist along its length.

    摘要: An underground tornado shelter having a double-hull design is constructed through a rotational molding process from any one of a variety of materials, such as linear medium-density polyethylene. The tornado shelter has a dome-shaped upper half and a hemispherical lower half. Each half includes a flange, an inner wall, and an outer wall. The outer wall may include planar wall portions, indentation portions, and rib portions. The tornado shelter can also have an anchoring system that is integral with the lower half of the shelter and is formed through the same rotational molding process used to shape the rest of the lower half. Pipes can be inserted into the pipe alignment grooves in the anchoring system, and secured in place with plates bolted to the anchoring system across pipe alignment grooves.

    摘要: An adjustable support system is provided for a premanufactured building structure. Struts (65, 66) are mounted at their lower or platform ends in support clevises (45, 46), and are mounted to the joists (12, 13) of the building structure. The lower or platform end (78) of the struts can be moved horizontally with respect to the support platform (36) by rotating the adjustment nut (80) on the travel screw (55) of the support clevis. This effectively reorients the strut to a greater or smaller angle with respect to the horizontal, so that the strut bears more or less of the load of the joist and the building structure. Preferably, the rotation of the adjustment nut (80) is accomplished with a torque wrench which provides the installer with an indication of the load being assumed by the strut.
