    摘要: A latch assembly with an anti-picking function includes a bracket mounted in a door and located at a top or bottom end of the door. A movable member is slideably received in the bracket. A lever is pivotably mounted in the bracket. A positioning member includes a first pivotal portion pivotably connected to the movable member. The positioning member and the movable member can move jointly. The positioning member further includes a second pivotal portion pivotably connected to the lever. When the lever pivots, the positioning member pivots and actuates the movable member to move, causing movement of a latch between a latching position and an unlatching position. When the latch is in the latching position, a lug of the positioning member abuts against the movable member to prevent the latch from moving from the latching position to the unlatching position by picking.

    摘要: An apparatus for preventing unwanted opening of a locked enclosure. The enclosure includes a lock, a door and a door bolt. The door is openable when the door bolt is retracted from a structure surrounding the enclosure. The apparatus includes a frangible guard plate, and an arm coupled to the guard plate by a spring. The arm is maintained in a first position under a bias of the spring. When the guard plate is fractured, the arm is free to move from the first position into a second position. The arm is positioned to engage the door bolt in the second position, thereby preventing retraction of the door bolt.

    摘要: The present invention, and inventive system, is a new locking mechanism that prevents entry for doors, or other barriers that can use a deadbolt system, or system comparable to a deadbolt system. The present invention can be installed and works in conjunction with the existing deadbolt assembly to prevent lock picking, a bump key, or a user's own key from being used to open the door. In the present invention, by engaging the arm latch, or arm actuator, of the present invention, over the turn knob on an existing deadbolt, the present invention prevents the free rotation movement of the turn knob, thus not allowing retraction of the deadbolt, and entry through that door or barrier.

    摘要: A lock for locking a lid to a receptacle has a bolt extending into aligned holes in overlapping parts thereof. A handle is detachably connected to an outer end of the bolt for pulling the bolt. An expansion mechanism in the form of wedges, a chain or other mechanisms, expands to an expanded geometry larger than the aligned holes to prevent withdrawing the bolt, and contracts to a contracted geometry which is at most equal to the dimension of the aligned holes for allowing withdrawing of the bolt. An actuator mounted in the bolt engages the expansion mechanism for moving it from the expanded geometry to the contracted geometry when the actuator is pushed. A biasing spring engaged to the actuator biases it in the withdrawing direction.

    摘要: A security door assembly or locking mechanism for securing a single door in locking engagement with an adjacent door jamb structure comprises a first elongate metal blade to be received by a matching elongate groove in a vertical edge of a door. A second elongate metal blade is received by a matching groove in an upper horizontal edge of the door. Mechanical devices are provided for moving said blades partially from the grooves in the door into engagement with receiving grooves in the adjacent door jamb structure to lock the door. The vertical and horizontal blades are coupled together by a linkage mechanism which enables both blades to be operated simultaneously upon actuation of a single lever or knob. The blades and the linkage mechanism are mounted in an L-shaped housing inserted into grooves formed in adjacent edges of the door. Elongate metal strips are provided to be mounted over the grooves in the door jamb. The metal strips are provided with slots through which the blades pass to lock the door to the door jamb.

    摘要: A manually operated latch for a gate closure is disclosed herein having a resilient helical coil with extended end portions secured to the ends of a pair of hand grips. The end portions are disposed to extend at an angle with respect to each other so that the normal bias of the coil forcibly urges the hand grips away from each other. A keeper loosely secured between the end portions holds the hand grips from separating beyond a predetermined set position and permits yieldable closing or drawing of the hand grips together against the expanding bias of the coil. A pair of latch members are rigidly carried on the end portions and extend towards each other in a normally biased condition to draw overlapping latch elements together.
