Abstract: A method for managing software versions of an electronic device in a vehicle and a relevant device are disclosed. The method includes: transmitting an update bundle to a target vehicle; receiving an update response from the target vehicle, wherein the update response is used to indicate one or more patches which have been successfully installed among the N patches; updating a vehicle version tree corresponding to the target vehicle according to the update response to obtain an updated VVT. The technical solution provides a lightweight and efficient version control mechanism for maintaining the software versions for each of the electronic devices in a vehicle.

Abstract: Methods, computing systems, and computer-readable storage media are provided for automatic on-cloud integrated validations for client customizations. According to the methods, a first entity provides a hosted environment in a cloud. The hosted environment hosts a pre-release version of software. The hosted environment receives customizations to the pre-release version of the software. The customizations replace one or more submodules of the pre-release version of the software with a customized version of the one or more submodules, or add one or more new submodules to the customized version of the software. The pre-release version of the software is validated, via an automated test procedure, as being compatible with the customizations.

Abstract: A system enables selection of application hosts which meet update requirements, then downloads an update for instances of an application agent corresponding to selected application hosts. The system puts selected application hosts in maintenance mode, which prevents selected application hosts from beginning execution of any operations, until updating selected application hosts is completed. The system creates backup copy of configuration files used to configure instances of application agent. The system initiates update sessions which install update in instances of application agent corresponding to selected application hosts. If update sessions failed to install update in any of instances of application agent in cluster of application hosts, then system restores configuration files which were used to configure instances of application agents. The system rolls back update for updated instances of application agents in cluster of application hosts to previous conditions and configurations of instances of application agents.

An installation package includes a package binding function for linking the installation package to the secure element, a manifest, a manifest signature generated using a block-cipher algorithm, and a software image is received at an update agent within the secure element. The update agent implements an authentication and integrity scheme by verifying various signatures contained within the installation package and installing the software image in case of successful authentication and integrity verification.
