Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of processing a hybrid broadcast service. The method comprises, receiving broadcast signals for the hybrid broadcast service, wherein the broadcast signals includes address information about the signaling information, transmitting a request for signaling information of the broadcast signals and receiving signaling information via a broadband channel or a mobile broadband by using one of a unicast method, a multicast method and an eMBMS (evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) method.
Abstract:
Example methods and apparatus to generate identifying tags for media content as described herein. An example method includes obtaining an identifier value associated with at least one of audio or video of received media content by at least one of: extracting the identifier value from at least one of the audio or the video or determining the identifier value based on inherent information of at least one of the audio or the video, generating a tag including the identifier value, and storing the tag with the media content to cause the tag to be distributed to a presentation location along with the media content.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are disclosed for identifying media and, more particularly, to methods and apparatus for decoding identifiers after broadcast. An example method includes a portion of an identifying code from a media signal, determine a partition of the look-up table based on the portion of the identifying code wherein the partition of the look-up table includes reference signatures associated with the portion of the identifying code, and identify the media signal by comparing a signature extracted from the media signal to reference signatures in the partition of the look-up table.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and apparatus to monitor media presentations are disclosed. An example method includes identifying a household of panelists based on a public Internet Protocol address identified in tagging data transmitted by a media presentation device. A panelist is identified within the household of panelists based on metering data. A media source is identified based on the tagging data. Identification of the media presented in association with the tagging data based on at least one of the tagging data and the metering data is attempted. The panelist is credited with exposure to the identified media from the media source at a media presentation location associated with the public IP address when the media is identified. The panelist is credited with exposure to media from the media source at the media presentation location when the media is not identified.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for program telecast monitoring using watermarks are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein to watermark media can include encoding the media with a sequence of watermarks, a watermark in the sequence of watermarks including payload data identifying the media. Such example methods can also include, modifying the sequence of watermarks to further include a data pattern associated with a particular transmission of the media. In some examples, respective watermarks in the sequence of watermarks are to be modified to include respective portions of the data pattern, wherein the respective portions, when combined, form the data pattern.
Abstract:
A system capable of providing information having a large amount of data without spoiling the aesthetic appearance of an object is provided. An information provision terminal device 8 which has received an address corresponding code transmits the address corresponding code to a video transmission device 12 of a broadcasting station. The video transmission device 12 embeds the received address corresponding code as a digital watermark in video to generate a broadcast program (broadcast contents) and transmits the broadcast program. An information address acquisition means 24 transmits the extracted address corresponding code to a management server device 4. An information address transmission means 44 of the management server device 4 reads an information address recorded with the address corresponding code from a recording unit 42 and transmits the information address by return to an information reception terminal device 2. An information acquisition means 26 accesses an information provision server device 6 on the basis of the acquired information address. An information transmission means 60 of the information provision server device 6 transmits provided information to the information acquisition means 26 of the information reception terminal 2.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for monitoring transmissions of media content (such as audio and audiovisual content) in order to obtain independent and objective data regarding the use of specific media content recordings or works within the transmissions. Processing and reporting of such data is provided in various ways to serve a variety of business needs. Methods for employing content identification technology to efficiently and automatically obtain reliable, accurate, and precise monitoring data are also disclosed. Various information products and services based on such monitoring systems are proposed.

Abstract:
Example methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture to perform audio watermark decoding are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes receiving an audio signal including an audience measurement code embedded therein using a first plurality of frequency components, sampling the audio signal, transforming the sampled audio signal into a first frequency domain representation, determining whether the code is detectable in the first plurality of frequency components of the first frequency domain representation, and when the code is not detected in the first plurality of frequency components, examining a second plurality of frequency components of a second frequency domain representation to determine whether the code is detected, the second plurality of frequency components being offset from the first plurality of frequency components by a first offset, the first offset corresponding to a sampling frequency mismatch.
Abstract:
Encoding and decoding methods and apparatus as described. In one example, a method of embedding auxiliary information into an audio signal includes sampling the audio signal to create an audio block; receiving a code; determining frequency components that will be used to represent the code, wherein different sets of frequency components represent respectively different information and wherein one frequency component from each set of frequency components is located in a code band and there are multiple code bands and spacing between adjacent code bands is equal to or less than the spacing between adjacent frequency components of each code band; determining amplitudes of the frequency components that will be used to represent the information, wherein the amplitudes of the frequency components are determined by a masking ability of the audio block; synthesizing the frequency components that will be used to represent the information, wherein the frequency components are synthesized with the determined amplitudes; and combining the synthesized code frequency components with the audio block.
