摘要： A latch assembly having a latch housing and handle that are substantially or near flush with the surrounding outer surface of the door in which they are mounted when the latch assembly is in its closed position. The latch assembly utilizes a locking cylinder as a push-button mechanism in order to release at least a portion of the handle, which then pivots to an extended position where it can be grasped and turned by an operator. A spindle and latching pawl are slidably connected to the handle and bound by a camming surface in the latch housing so that the spindle and latching pawl moves both axially and rotationally at the same time so that, upon closing, the pawl will cinch down on the frame to create a tight closure between the door and frame.

The nut shaped receiving area preferably covers the platform during rotation of the handle relative to the base. The head portion may also include a lock having a locking barrier connected to a locking cylinder. The locking barrier is also adapted for removable positioning within the circular working channel to prevent rotation between the rotational limiter and the stop thereby restricting rotation of the handle and shaft relative to the base. The shaft further includes a latch member designed to engage a latch receiver integral to a door frame used for latching of a door in a closed position.

摘要： A device to lock a brake or clutch pedal of a vehicle so as to deter theft of the vehicle includes a base for placement on the floor of the vehicle beneath the pedal of the vehicle being locked and beneath a pedal shaft supporting the pedal. The device includes a generally U-shaped housing with a second leg attached to the base, a first leg shorter than the second leg, and a cross member connecting the first and second legs to define an opening between the first leg and the base and a slot between the first and second legs to receive the pedal shaft and permit travel of the pedal shaft through the slot. A locking mechanism includes a locking pin and a lock. The locking pin is selectively movable on the U-shaped housing between a raised locked position sufficiently close to a lower side of the pedal shaft to prevent the pedal shaft from being operably depressed, i.e., depressed sufficiently to enable the vehicle to be started or clutch or brake to be used and a retracted position to permit travel of the pedal shaft through the slot and opening. The locking pin is on the end of a rod which extends through the second leg and a housing of the lock fixed to the U-shaped housing above the second leg. A handle at an opposing upper end of the rod is pitched and shaped to deflect blows. The lock has an upper face with a key opening. The upper face faces substantially oppositely away from the base at a transverse angle to the base and to a perpendicular angle to the base. A barrel type key lock cylinder is used. The lock housing has multiple, mostly non-rectangular lateral sides to discourage cutting. The housings around the rod are made from hardened metals. The shorter, first leg is welded on its three outer sides to the cross member and is generally U-shaped with a deflection in its own cross wall for greater strength.

摘要： An electromechanical locking device completely contained within a doorknob which can be a part of a usual lockset or retrofitted on an existing lockset which requires entry of an access code or entry of both an access code and use of a mechanical key for operating the lock. The code is entered on a keypad exposed on the knob and supplies a signal to a computer powered by batteries. A correct match of the input code to a code stored in the computer will actuate a motor operated cam to release a mechanical interlocking pin enabling the lock cylinder to be rotated to the unlocked position. Both visual and audible signals may be provided in the doorknob as to the power level of the batteries and ready condition of the lock. The mechanical interlock pin is disengaged automatically from the lock cylinder upon the power level of the batteries dropping to a predetermined level requiring only mechanical key operation of the lock.
