    摘要: The present invention comprises a process of preparing a solution of an enhanced efficacy aluminum antiperspirant salt in a polyhydric alcohol by(a) providing an aqueous solution consisting essentially of about 5% to about 18% by weight of an enhanced efficacy aluminum antiperspirant salt in water, the enhanced efficacy aluminum antiperspirant salt having been prepared in situ without having been dried to a solid powder;(b) mixing the aqueous solution with a sufficient amount of a liquid polyhydric alcohol to provide a mixed solution which has an antiperspirant salt to polyhydric alcohol ratio of about 1:4 to about 1.2:1; and(c) rapidly evaporating the water from the mixed solution under vacuum to provide a final liquid polyhydric alcohol solution containing about 20 to 50% enhanced efficacy aluminum antiperspirant salt and about 2 to 16% water, with the balance being polyhydric alcohol.An alkaline glycinate salt, such as sodium, potassium or zinc glycinate, may be added to the polyhydric alcohol prior to the addition of the antiperspirant salt solution in order to raise the pH of the recovered product to about 4.1 to 5.0.

    摘要: Disclosed are basic aluminum antiperspirant materials having univalent complex oxoanions (e.g., nitrate); methods of making such materials; antiperspirant compositions containing such basic aluminum materials, another antiperspirant active material (e.g., a basic zirconium halide salt), and optionally a neutral amino acid: and methods of making such compositions. Size exclusion high performance liquid chromatography chromatograms of the disclosed basic aluminum materials have a peak 4 relative area of at least 25%, a peak 3 relative area of less than 60%, the sum of the peaks 3 and 4 being at least 50%; and less than 10% of the chromatographic peaks eluting at peaks 1 and 2. The disclosed basic aluminum materials have less than 25% of the aluminum in the form of Al.sup.b polyhydroxyaquoaluminum, and have a .sup.27 Al NMR spectrum in which the area of the 71.5-73.5 ppm resonance line includes more than 50% of the combined areas of the 62.5-63.5 ppm and 71.5-73.5 ppm resonance lines, and 5%-30% of the total area under the spectrum from 140 ppm to -80 ppm is contained in the resonance line at 71.5-73.5 ppm. The basic aluminum material of the present invention can be produced by adding a stoichiometric or near-stoichiometric amount of aluminum metal to a solution of an aluminum salt having a univalent complex oxoanion; the basic aluminum material can also be made by adding to such solution of the aluminum salt, aluminum metal having, in total, a relatively small surface area (large-sized particles of aluminum).

    摘要: A residue free, antiperspirant gel stick composition is disclosed which comprises an antiperspirant compound which is soluble in a diol, a normally liquid, water soluble diol, a gelling agent and a zinc glycinate in amount sufficient to control the pH of the gel stick at about 4.1 to about 5.0, the glycine to zinc mole ratio of the zinc glycinate added being about 2.0/1 to about 3.0/1. The process for preparing a diol soluble antiperspirant active useful in preparing the residue free gel stick is also disclosed and comprises reacting an antiperspirant compound with a water soluble, normally liquid diol in a water solution by heating for about 1 to about 100 hours at a temperature of about 50.degree. C. to about 110.degree. C.; adding a zinc glycinate to the reaction mixture and removing the water to recover a powdered antiperspirant active.
