Disclosed is an aluminum alloy wheel squeeze casting process and an aluminum alloy wheel squeeze casting device. Molten aluminum is injected into a mold cavity from the bottom by adopting a U-shaped pipe, so that the filling is stable and the quality problem of the pore defect of a squeeze cast rim is solved; the squeeze deformation effect of the rim is strengthened using a mold locking ring; and through a secondary pressurization process for the center of the aluminum wheel, the internal dendritic spacing of the aluminum wheel casting is reduced, the yield strength and the elongation in the material mechanical properties of the casting are improved, and a necessary technical foundation is provided for overall weight reduction of the aluminum wheel.

Methods and systems for casting and thermoplastically forming bulk metallic glass articles are described. A molten alloy can be fed into a mold with a three-dimensional shape and a cavity. The mold is configured such that multiple two-dimensional cross sections of the cavity of the mold are different from one another in multiple first mathematical planes intersecting the cavity displaced from one another in a direction normal to the mathematical planes intersecting the cavity. Cooling the molten alloy in the mold provides one or more near net shape bulk metallic glass castings, can be thermoplastically formed using forms at a temperature above Tg to provide a bulk metallic glass article with a desired final shape.

A tastable, moldable, and/or extrudable structure using a metallic primary alloy. One or more additives are added to the metallic primary alloy so that in situ galvanically-active reinforcement particles are formed in the melt or on cooling from the melt. The composite contains an optimal composition and morphology to achieve a specific galvanic corrosion rate in the entire composite. The in situ formed galvanically-active particles can be used to enhance mechanical properties of the composite, such as ductility and/or tensile strength. The final casting can also be enhanced by heat treatment, as well as deformation processing such as extrusion, forging, or rolling, to further improve the strength of the final composite over the as-cast material.

Various embodiments provide methods and apparatus for forming bulk metallic glass (BMG) articles using a mold having a stationary mold part and a movable mold part paired to form a mold cavity. A molten material can be injected to fill the mold cavity. The molten material can then be cooled into a BMG article at a desired cooling rate. While injecting and/or cooling the molten material, the movement of the movable mold part can be controlled, such that a thermal contact between the molten material and the mold can be maintained. BMG articles can be formed without forming an underfilled part. Additional structural features can be imparted in the BMG article during formation. At least a portion of the formed BMG article can have an aspect ratio (first dimension/second dimension) of at least 10 or less than 0.1.

The nickel chromium plating layer is composed of a semibright nickel plating layer formed on the forging cast product and having a thickness of 5 to 10 μm, a bright nickel plating layer 33 formed on the semibright nickel plating layer 31 and having a thickness of 5 to 10 μm, and a chromium plating layer 37 formed on the bright nickel plating layer 33 and having a thickness of 0.5 to 3 μm. The present invention adopts a forging cast product rather than a cast product. The forging cast product has a smooth surface, so that a plating layer can be directly formed on the surface of the forging cast product without forming an undercoat resin layer.
