摘要: Apparatus is disclosed for continuously producing foamed resincore web-faced laminates useful as insulating and construction panels or the like, in which provision is made to simplify and improve adaptation of the apparatus for more practical, commercial production of panels of widely varying thickness specifications, while maintaining uniformity of foam density and cell size regardless of panel thickness. Self-foaming resin mix is applied to a pair of continuously advancing facing webs and allowed to expand between them to form the laminate or foam board. Provision is made for changing the point of lay-down of the resin mix on the facing web in relation to the point of entry of the webs to a curing zone. Where the resin is applied in the form of a liquid stream, provision is made for adjusting the position of a nip roll relative to the curing zone entrance and/or point of lay down, the facing webs being passed through an adjustably restricted gap formed by the nip roll after the laydown of resin mix to effect more even distribution and adherence of the resin to the webs. A modification is also disclosed employing spray application of the resin. The disclosure also covers the method of continuously producing foam board using the apparatus.

摘要: Fixtures and related system and methods are disclosed. In accordance with an implementation, a method includes applying a resin onto a substrate and positioning the substrate on over a chuck of a base of a fixture. The method also includes moving a mold into engagement with the resin and curing the resin. The method also includes detaching the mold and the resin and, while detaching the mold and the resin, determining a detachment force applied as a function of a distance of detachment between the mold and the resin.

摘要: Configurable orthoses having a high degree of independent adjustability of various parameters are provided. In the example of a rehabilitation-evaluation ankle-foot orthosis (REAFO), these parameters may include calf band anteroposterior, height, width, sagittal tilt, coronal tilt, and mediolateral displacement adjustments; mediolateral displacement adjustments of a supramalleolar support; heel width/stirrup separation adjustment; and sagittal active joint resistance and neutral angle adjustments. Calf band mediolateral displacement adjustment may be provided by a lockable four-bar pivoting frame linkage of the REAFO. In one aspect, the configurable orthosis is used in conjunction with a plastically deformable precursor member to facilitate the design and manufacture of a definitive orthosis customized for a particular patient. In another aspect, the orthosis communicatively transmits limb shape data to either a positive shape receiver apparatus or a CAD/CAM apparatus, to facilitate design and manufacture of a definitive orthosis.

摘要: A composite material molding method is provided for forming a composite material. The molding includes disposing a reinforcing base material in a cavity inside an openable and closable mold, injecting resin into the cavity in a state in which a clamping pressure is exerted on the mold and curing the resin. When injecting the resin into the cavity, the injection pressure of the resin is adjusted between a first pressure that is higher than the clamping pressure and a second pressure that is lower than the clamping pressure, and the injection pressure of the resin is lowered from the pressure that is higher than the clamping pressure to the pressure that is lower than the clamping pressure at least once. The resin is thereby injected such that the pressure inside the cavity does not exceed the clamping pressure from the start of injection to the end of injection of the resin.
