摘要: A resilient bearing to be positioned between a first structure and a second structure including a central connection point for connecting the resilient bearing to the first structure and a plurality of limbs extending outwardly from the central connection point to distal connection points.The resilient bearing may be formed from a single piece of elastic material adapted to dampen forces due to environmental events. A functional property of the elastic material may vary along at least some of the plurality of limbs. The angle between each of at least some of the plurality of limbs and the second structure may be between 20 and 70 degrees.

摘要: A sliding seismic isolator includes a first plate attached to a building support, and an elongate element extending from the first plate. The seismic isolator also includes a second plate and a low-friction layer positioned between the first and second plates, the low-friction layer allowing the first and second plates to move freely relative to one another along a horizontal plane. The seismic isolator also includes a lower support member attached to the second plate, with a biasing arrangement, such as at least one spring member or at least one engineered elastomeric element, which can include one or more silicon inserts, positioned within the lower support member. The elongate element extends from the first plate at least partially into the lower support member and movement of the elongate element is influenced or controlled by the biasing arrangement.

摘要: The present invention relates to a disaster-proof home, which is used as a home for daily life, but when a disaster such as an earthquake, a tornado, a typhoon, a strong wind, a flood, or a fire occurs, the house is lowered below the ground or is lifted to be spaced apart from the ground, preventing a housing damage and personal injury caused by the disaster and personal injury, and is capable of daily living in a residential space formed in a house and when a sudden disaster occurs, the house is either lowered to an evacuation space formed in the protection wall or floated automatically by water depending on the disaster situation, without the risk of moving to an outside protective facility so that it is effective for the residents to be safe and to prevent property and personal injury caused by the disaster.

The server rack may be anchored through the floor to the subfloor by a linkage that extends through the floor. A cable and turnbuckle or other linkage components may be arranged between the rack anchor and subfloor anchor and may be used collectively for removing slack from the linkage and/or otherwise tensioning the linkage to anchor the server through the raised floor and via the linkage to the subfloor.

摘要: The invention provides suspended or “dropped” ceiling systems based upon the use of standard inverted T-bar lattices. The ceiling panels are constructed from two pieces which, when assembled in place, capture the T-bar in a manner that prevents the panels from shaking loose. A suspended ceiling assembled with the panels of this invention will withstand the forces of an earthquake without experiencing panel drop-outs, and the ceiling will remain intact so long as the T-bars remain suspended from the structural ceiling above. The panels of the invention can, in preferred embodiments, carry lighting fixtures, and the required wiring can be installed and concealed below the T-bars rather than within the plenum space.

摘要: A three part foundation system for supporting a building is described. Three part foundation systems can include a containment vessel, which constrains a buffer medium to an area above the containment vessel, and a construction platform. A building can be built on the construction platform. In a particular embodiment, during operation, the construction platform and structures built on the construction platform can float on the buffer medium. In an earthquake, a construction platform floating on a buffer medium may experience greatly reduced shear forces. In a flood, a construction platform floating on a buffer medium can be configured to rise as water levels rise to limit flood damage.

摘要: The present invention is an arch/building support system comprising two (or more) opposing wedges, at least one located at the base of each side of the arch, with the bases of the opposing wedges facing each other, the opposing wedges connected to each other by a semi-rigid flexible rod or rods. In a building structure, the flexible member could be rebar(s) made of one or various materials (metal, plastic, nylon etc.) with various degree of elasticity. The rebars could envelop the structure (around the outside or shell) or reside within it, and may also incorporate some sort of spring mechanism. The rebar(s) are anchored to the upper wedge on each side of the arch, but need not be, and could instead be anchored to the ground.
