The engine may have an expansion ratio with a value of at most 8. The rotary engine may be part of a compound engine system.

摘要: A method of feeding air to an internal combustion engine having at least first and second internal cavities, including: completing the intake phase of the first combustion chamber of the first internal cavity by feeding compressed air into the first combustion chamber until a maximum volume thereof is reached; during a beginning of the compression phase of the first combustion chamber and a simultaneous beginning of the intake phase of the second combustion chamber of the second internal cavity, feeding compressed air from the first combustion chamber into the second combustion chamber; closing a communication between the first and second combustion chambers and completing the intake phase of the second combustion chamber by feeding compressed air into the second combustion chamber until a maximum volume thereof is reached.

A first fuel injector is in communication with the second rotary unit operable to initiate the combustion phase and a second fuel injector is in communication with the first rotary unit operable to selectively initiate augmented operation.

摘要: The present invention relates to an improved rotary engine having one positive motion stroke, the rotary engine comprising at least one of a piston having at least one piston vane. At least one of a unidirectional bearing is operationally coupled to the piston, wherein the piston is configured to allow the piston vane to rotate and the unidirectional bearing prevents the piston vane from rotating during a combustive force or a thrust force injection. A peddle block is positioned in the pathway of the piston vane, wherein as the piston vane approaches the peddle block a secondary exhaust pressure increases against the piston vane surface, the secondary exhaust pressure, in part, causes the piston vane to rotate and self-align for a subsequent cycle. Other exemplary embodiments allow for a secondary exhaust pressure to rotate a piston vane causing the piston vane to self-aligning for the next cycle.

摘要: An engine driven propulsion fan. The preferred use of this fan is to power aircraft. Two turbochargers are provided both driven in series by exhaust gasses from a rotary engine. A portion of the compressed air produced by the second turbocharger provides thrust for the engine and a portion is used for engine air, further compressed by the first turbocharger.
