摘要:
In an oscillator circuit responsive to a predetermined temperature and including an astable multivibrator, a switching transistor inverts an output voltage from a first transistor of the multivibrator with a predetermined time delay, and a feedback capacitor is responsive to the inverted output voltage from the switching transistor to bias a reference capacitor connected between the output terminal of the first transistor and the input terminal of a second transistor of the multivibrator at opposite voltage polarity relative to that of a terminal voltage across the reference capacitor, a capacitance of the feedback capacitor being determined to turn off the second transistor due to the bias of the feedback capacitor when ambient temperature becomes the predetermined one under exposure of the second transistor to the ambient temperature.

An electronic digital thermometer is provided with temperature-responsive means for producing pulses at a frequency related in a known manner to a sensed temperature. A control means permits the transmission to a counting means for a fixed period of time only of a selected one only of at least two predetermined portions of the pulses. The portions of the pulses transmitted are selected to be proportional to the magnitudes of the sensed temperature as expressed in respective temperature scales, preferably the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales. Decoding and display means are coupled to the counting means for converting the number of pulses counted by the counting means during the fixed period of time into a digital display of the sensed temperature in the selected scale.

The present invention is directed to a microwave oven which may operate in a temperature control mode, wherein the temperature of a food to be cooked is maintained between two selectable values. The food temperature is sensed by a probe adapted for insertion into food being cooked in the microwave oven. The probe is electrically communicated to a microwave generation control circuit through a plug which is removably engaged in a socket secured by a microwave oven wall. When the plug is engaged by the socket, the microwave oven is automatically placed in the temperature control mode.

A thermistor temperature sensing system includes a conventional comparator having a constant reference threshold voltage and a linearized thermistor sensor which in combination detect a limited range of desirable temperatures. A means is also disclosed for extending the linearization of the thermistor in a piecewise manner at at least one temperature extreme where linearity typically severely deteriorates. In a thermistor temperature sensing system, linearization of thermistor characteristics with respect to at least one temperature within the temperature extreme is achieved by utilizing circuitry which makes the threshold voltage of the conventional comparator a function of the setting of a potentiometer for a desired temperature within the temperature extreme to be sensed by a thermistor sensor. The piecewise linearization technique disclosed allows easy interface with the thermistor temperature sensing system for detection of an optimum of selectable temperatures in the extended range of linearized characteristics of the thermistor.

A temperature detecting unit extended, through a cable, from an inside wall of the microwave oven has a probe formed at end portion thereof for inserting the probe into an object such as food items to be heated for detecting the temperature of the object during the heating, so as to produce a signal indicative of the temperature of the object. The cable of the temperature detecting unit is formed by comparatively thin wires having sufficient flexibility and durability so as to facilitate the manipulation of the unit during inserting thereof into the object.

Temperature indicating apparatus having a sensor for introduction into a region having a temperature to be measured. Circuitry responsive to the sensor supplies an electrical signal representative of the temperature in the region. A display provides a visual indication of the temperature in the region and includes a plurality of temperature indicators each of which represents a discrete temperature level. Circuitry responsive to the electrical signal selectively illuminates at any one time only that indicator which corresponds to the temperature represented by the electrical signal at that time.

Temperature indicating apparatus having a sensor for introduction into a region having a temperature to be measured and for supplying an analog signal whose amplitude is a function of the temperature therein. The analog signal amplitude is compared with a reference level which represents a preselected temperature level, and a signal is supplied when the analog signal amplitude reaches the reference level which thereby causes pulses to be supplied at a predetermined rate. A timer responsive to the pulses counts from zero to a preselected value and supplies a timing signal when the preselected value is reached. The time required for the timer to count from zero to the preselected value establishes a predetermined timing interval at the end of which a converter responsive to the timing signal converts the analog signal to a digital signal representative of the temperature in the region. Display circuitry responsive to the digital signal provides a visual indication of the temperature in the region being measured, this temperature being displayed only at the end of the predetermined timing interval.
