摘要: An improved ceiling mounted air treatment system is disclosed for installation upon a ceiling grid system having a plurality of ceiling panels within a room. The improved ceiling mounted air treatment system comprises a ceiling plenum defining a plurality of side walls, a top wall and a bottom wall. The plurality of side walls are dimensioned for replacing a ceiling panel of the ceiling grid system. An air input and an air output are defined in the bottom wall. A grid array is disposed within the plenum and located between the air input and the air output. An electronic generator is connected to the grid array for treating the flow of air through the grid array. A fan is interposed between the air input and the air output for establishing the flow of air from the room into the air input to exit from the air output into the room.

摘要: A method is disclosed for testing for delamination of a first composite component from a second composite component a composite material. The method comprises coupling a broad-band actuator to the composite material and connecting sweeping frequencies to the broad-band actuator for vibrating the composite material. An acoustic sensor is coupled to the composite material for measuring a resonant frequency curve of the vibrating composite material. The measured resonant frequency curve of the vibrating composite material is compared with a reference resonant frequency curve. A delaminated composite material produces a change in the measured resonant frequency curve relative to the reference resonant frequency curve. The method is suitable for detecting delamination in fuel cells as well as ceramic body armor.

摘要: An apparatus and method is disclosed for making a carbon fiber tubular component by sliding a carbon fiber sleeve and a fiber sleeve over a tubular mandrel. The sleeves overlying the tubular mandrel are saturated with a curable resin and inserted into a mold cavity of a compression mold. The cured carbon fiber tubular component is removed from the compression mold after the curing of the resin.

摘要: An improved vent for a fuel tank is disclosed for a fuel tank having a tank top wall defining an access aperture. The improved vent comprises a canister defining an internal volume having an open top secured to an interior surface of the tank top wall adjacent to the access aperture defined in the tank top wall. A vent aperture is defined in a sidewall of the canister with a proximal end of a vent pipe secured to the vent aperture. A hanger interposed between the interior surface of the tank top wall and the vent pipe for spacing the distal end of the vent pipe from the interior surface of the tank top wall to enable fuel entering the distal end of the vent pipe to close the float valve. The improved vent permits the canister to be located at a first preferred location for servicing of the float valve while permitting the distal end of the vent pipe to be located at a second preferred location for enabling venting upon the tilting of the fuel tank.

摘要: A precision liquid applicator is disclosed for dispensing an applicator liquid from a container onto a surface. The precision liquid applicator comprises a closure defining a terminal orifice and a valve seat. A valve comprises a precision applicator tip extending through the terminal orifice and comprises a valve seal for sealing with the valve seat. A depression of the precision applicator tip onto the surface displaces the valve seal from the sealing surface for providing an annular passageway between the precision applicator tip and the terminal orifice to enable the flow of the applicator liquid onto the surface. A valve stop cooperates with a stop wall for limiting movement of the valve to control a cross-sectional area of the passageway between the precision applicator tip and the terminal orifice and for ensuring the precision applicator tip extends beyond the second end of the closure. The precision liquid applicator is suitable for applying paint into a scratch within a painted surface without excessive application of paint outside of the scratch.
