Abstract: The pixels of an organic EL display panel each include an anode electrode layer, an organic layer, and a cathode electrode layer. Each of the organic layer and the cathode electrode layer is shared by the plurality of pixels. An organic EL element in each of the pixels includes an anode section, a cathode section, and a light emitting section. A conductor layer having a recess is provided in a region outside a region of the organic EL element in a view from a light exiting direction in which the organic EL element emits light. The recess includes a coated section that is covered with the organic layer and a conductor exposed section where the conductor layer is exposed. The cathode electrode layer is connected to part of the conductor exposed section.

Abstract: Forming functional layers including functional material in application regions by applying ink to the application regions then drying the ink, which contains the functional material, by causing nozzles to be scanned relative to the substrate along the row direction while, among the nozzles, only use-nozzles that are not selected as a defective nozzle eject the ink, the nozzles being arranged in the column direction over the substrate and including a nozzle selected in advance as a defective nozzle. Among the nozzles, when applying the ink, at least one reserve nozzle is present, a reserve nozzle being a nozzle that is not one of the use-nozzles, is not selected as the defective nozzle, passes over the application region, and does not eject the ink.

Abstract: An organic electroluminescence (EL) display panel including: a substrate; an insulating resin layer extending from an image display region to a peripheral region; an organic EL element array within the image display region; a sealing layer extending from the image display region to the peripheral region; and a sealing reinforcement layer, laminated in this order. The sealing layer includes first, second, and third sealing layers laminated in this order from the substrate, the first and third sealing layers being made of an inorganic material and the second sealing layer being made of a resin. In the outer peripheral portion of the sealing layer, the first and third sealing layers are in direct contact with each other and cover an outer end of the insulating resin layer. An outer end of the sealing reinforcement layer is outside the outer end of the insulating resin layer in plan view.
