Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed herein utilize Habitats to perform incremental updates on virtual machines (VMs) over time. A VM Habitat comprises a collection of VMs and a specification shared between these VMs. Each Habitat specification may define an image name, processing power, etc. A Habitat specification may exist across a cluster of servers. In some embodiments, to dynamically update a Habitat specification, only “spare” VMs in the Habitat are updated, subject to some scheduling parameters and server concurrency limit. As spare VMs are updated, they move towards the new Habitat specification. Eventually, all VMs reach this goal over time, given sufficient spare VM resources. This approach can allow the service provided by the VMs to remain operational, thus maintaining the service level required for its users. This automated process can also eliminate or otherwise reduce human error either in the server removal/insertion from/to the cluster or in the VM update itself.

Abstract:
A medication tablet dispenser has an upright casing providing a tower which is subdivided by horizontal partitions into eight compartments which individually contain removable holders each containing a charge of tablets to be dispensed. The holders have framing portions which together provide a funnel opening downwardly into a cavity of a blister sheet. The casing is vibrated back and forth about its vertical axis through a small angle to cause tablets in the holders to progress towards an outlet leading into the funnel and having an associated ejector which discharges selected tablets into the funnel when required by a computer program. Conical vibration of the casing is prevented by a connection located on its vertical axis and held stationary by a fixed arm. The ejectors operate in response to slide-rods individually reciprocated by associated solenoids controlled by the computer program.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transferring tubular stands between a substantially horizontal position on the catwalk and a substantially vertical position at the rig floor entry. In one embodiment of the invention, this is accomplished by moving bundles of individual tubulars to the process area, where a stand make-up/break-out machine, also called a bucking machine, makes up the tubular stands. The bucking machine aligns and stabs the connections and makes up the connection to the correct torque. The tubular stand is then transferred from the bucking machine to a stand storage area or to a trolley pick-up area. When additional stands are needed by the drilling operation, a trolley is moved into position over the trolley pick-up area to retrieve the stands previously placed in the trolley pick-up area. The stands are clamped to the trolley and the trolley is moved from a substantially horizontal position to a substantially vertical position at the rig floor entry. A vertical pipe-racking machine transfers the stands to the traveling equipment. The traveling equipment makes up the stand connection and the stand is run into the hole. The operation can also be reversed to remove stands from the rig floor entry and break out the stands in a horizontal position.
Abstract:
A radio device comprising a housing having an opening and a retaining surface, an antenna support sleeve inserted in the opening and a rod antenna mounted for sliding movement in the antenna support sleeve between extended and retracted positions, the antenna including a stop surface the sleeve including a first resilient, inwardly-directed member which abuts the stop surface when the antenna is in its fully extended position to block sliding removal of the antenna from the sleeve, the first member being outwardly displaceable using a tool to allow the stop surface to be slid past the first member and thereby enable sliding removal of the antenna from the sleeve and a second resilient member which engages the retaining surface to prevent removal of the sleeve from the housing.
Abstract:
A shielding device is formed from two unitary pieces, one of which pieces is a generally planar member taking the form of a lid and the other piece takes the form of a side wall member which is adapted for mounting to a substrate surface on which is mounted electric circuit elements. The two pieces together combine to create a shielding device for inhibiting the passage of electromagnetic radiation to and/or from a group of circuit elements disposed on a substrate. The lid may have flanges for connection onto the side wall member and the side wall member may have intersecting dividing walls disposed internally thereof.
