    摘要: An improved control method variably activates an electric resistance heating element in a vehicle heating system so as to maximize the heating performance without overloading the vehicle generator or discharging the vehicle storage battery. A desired activation level for the heating element is determined based at least in part on the ability of the engine driven generator to develop electrical current, and when enabled, the heating element is activated based on the desired activation level. If a load condition for which the generator is unable to charge the storage battery is detected, the activation level is progressively reduced, and when the load condition is no longer detected, the activation level is progressively increased toward the desired level.

    摘要: An automotive circuit package combines electronic control functions and power function on a single circuit board substrate. Electronic components including signal level terminals are in one section of the substrate and an array of power terminals are in a second section of the substrate but sharing some common circuit paths carrying control signals. Supplemental conductors in the second section are selectively connected to power terminals to carry high current levels. Each terminal is a through access terminal for directly connecting conductors on the substrate, wiring harness connectors on one side of the substrate and fuses and relays on the other side of the substrate. In one embodiment the terminals have a male portion extending from one side of the substrate and a female portion on the other side. In another embodiment male and female portions are on the same side of the substrate and apertures in the substrate allow plugging into the female portions from the other side.

    摘要: A CPU interconnect system permits swapping of different CPUs in a computer without requiring that the different CPUs each be adapted to conform to a standard input/output bus. Translation between CPU input/output lines and a system bus is accomplished by a programmable logic circuit. A memory containing a configuration program for the programmable logic circuit is associated with each CPU desired to be swapped. Thus, when a CPU is swapped or upon the occurrence of any other convenient event, the programmable logic circuit may be loaded with the program to configure the programmable logic circuit to perform the translation required by a current CPU.

    摘要: An enclosure for animals of different sizes comprises two complementary shell housings that enclose an inner cage, which is slidably engaged to the shell housings by suitable fixtures such as track slides. In the fully closed position, the inner edges of the two shell housings meet, thereby forming a unitary enclosure. As the shell housings are drawn apart, a greater portion of the inner cage is exposed, thereby increasing the inner volume of the enclosure. In a second embodiment, the two housing shells are replaced with four partial shells that facilitate expansion in two directions.

    摘要: An imaging system uses a dynamically varying coded mask, such as a spatial light modulator (SLM), to time-encode multiple degrees of freedom of a light field in parallel and a detector and processor to decode the encoded information. The encoded information may be decoded at the pixel level (e.g., with independently modulated counters in each pixel), on a read-out integrated circuit coupled to the detector, or on a circuit external to the detector. For example, the SLM, detector, and processor may create modulation sequences representing a system of linear equations where the variables represent a degree of freedom of the light field that is being sensed. If the number of equations and variables form a fully determined or overdetermined system of linear equations, the system of linear equations' solution can be determined through a matrix inverse. Otherwise, a solution can be determined with compressed sensing reconstruction techniques with the constraint that the signal is sparse in the frequency domain.
