摘要: A compact respiratory therapy device suitable for use by a patient during sleep to provide respiratory pressure therapy such as at a pressure between 4-30 cmH2O includes a housing, an inlet, an outlet, a motor including a rotor, and an impeller configured to be rotated by the rotor to deliver a flow of air from the inlet toward the outlet. The impeller includes a set of impeller blades, each impeller blade comprising a leading edge and a trailing edge; and a first shroud and a second shroud, each shroud at least partly defining a flow passage through the impeller, the first shroud comprising a wall defining a periphery of an impeller inlet. The compact respiratory therapy device is configured to deliver the flow of air from the outlet for delivery to the patient at a pressure between 4-30 cmH2O at an overall sound power level of less than 50 dB(A) thereby reducing any disturbance to a quality of sleep for the patient. A diameter of the impeller is less than 50 mm. The first shroud and the second shroud are configured such that the flow passage is narrower in an axial direction at an outer portion of the impeller than at an inner portion of the impeller; and a diameter of the impeller inlet is at least 50% of the diameter of the impeller.

摘要: A patient interface includes a shell with a central opening configured to receive the pressurized flow of air, a foam cushion, and an elastomeric support portion that is attached to the shell, supports the foam cushion, and forms at least part of a chamber together with the shell and the foam cushion. The elastomeric support portion includes a side wall that forms a continuous perimeter around the chamber and a resiliently flexible lip that supports the foam cushion and extends from the side wall toward an interior of the chamber. The resiliently flexible lip has an outer perimeter that is anchored to the side wall and an unsupported inner perimeter. The foam cushion overhangs the inner perimeter of the resiliently flexible lip, and the shell is more rigid than the elastomeric support portion. In addition, the foam cushion is configured to directly contact and engage a portion of the patient's skin in use.

摘要: Aspects of the present technology comprise a positioning and stabilising structure to hold a seal-forming structure in a therapeutically effective position on a head of a patient. The seal-forming structure may be constructed and arranged to form a seal with a region of the patients face surrounding an entrance to the patients airways for sealed delivery of a flow of air at a therapeutic pressure of at least 4 cmH2O with respect to ambient air pressure throughout the patients respiratory cycle in use. The positioning and stabilising structure may comprise a front hoop arranged to contact, in use, at least a region of the patients head superior to an otobasion superior of the patients head and a rear strap. The positioning and stabilising structure may comprise an adjustment mechanism for adjustment of the front hoop and the rear strap relative to the patients head, the adjustment mechanism being arranged in a single operation to adjust both the front hoop and rear strap to enable the positioning and stabilising structure to fit different size heads.

摘要: A patient interface for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a nasal prong assembly including a pair of nasal prongs structured to sealingly communicate with nasal passages of a patient's nose in use and headgear to maintain the nasal prong assembly in a desired position on the patient's face. The headgear includes side straps and rigidizers provided to respective side straps. Each rigidizer includes a first end portion that provides a connector structured to engage a respective end of the nasal prong assembly and an inwardly curved protrusion in the form of a cheek support that curves inwardly of the connector. The cheek support is adapted to follow the contour of the patient's cheek and guide a respective end portion of the side strap into engagement with the patient's cheek to provide a stable cheek support.

摘要: A patient interface structure includes a cushion configured to sealingly engage the patient's face and a front that is more rigid than the cushion. The cushion includes a forward opening, a rearward opening that is opposite the forward opening and a continuous sealing surface. The continuous sealing surface has a mouth sealing portion configured to seal around the patient's mouth and a nasal sealing portion configured to seal around both of the patient's nasal airways. The front plate includes an air inlet configured to both receive the pressurized respiratory gas and secure headgear to the patient interface structure. In addition, the nasal sealing portion includes at least one aperture that is separate from the rearward opening. Also, the front plate, the mouth sealing portion and the nasal sealing portion together form a common chamber.

摘要: A patient interface to deliver a flow of air at a positive pressure with respect to ambient air pressure to an entrance to the patient's airways to ameliorate sleep disordered breathing includes a frame assembly and a cushion assembly configured to removably and repeatably connect to the frame assembly. The frame assembly and the cushion assembly form at least part of a plenum chamber pressurizable to a therapeutic pressure. The cushion assembly comprises a one-piece construction including a seal-forming structure configured to form a seal with a region of a patients face surrounding the entrance to the patients airways and a frame connection structure configured to removably and repeatably connect the cushion assembly to the frame assembly. The seal-forming structure comprises a first elastomeric material and the frame connection structure comprises a second elastomeric material, the first elastomeric material comprising a lower durometer or hardness than the second elastomeric material.
