摘要: A mask system may deliver a supply of air generated by a flow generator at a positive pressure in a therapeutic range to a patient's airways to treat sleep disordered breathing. The mask system may include: a cushion, a mask frame attached to the cushion, the mask frame having a front surface opposite the cushion and a bore projecting from the front surface to form a hole, and the mask frame having a curved interfacing structure projecting radially from the bore, and said mask frame having no built-in or integral headgear attachment points, headgear, an elbow assembly, and a headgear connector detachably connected to the mask frame by translating the mask frame and the headgear connector towards one another, wherein the mask frame and the headgear connector are constructed to resist movement between the mask frame and the headgear connector when said mask frame and said headgear connector are attached.

摘要: A system of breathing arrangements for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes at least first and second cushion components, e.g., full-face, nasal, nasal prongs, nose tip, and/or a combination of any of the above, including a nasal or full-face cushion and nasal prongs/nozzles combination, etc., that are different from one another in at least one aspect, and a common frame assembly configured to support each of the first and second cushion components. Various embodiments are directed to a full-face or nasal mask used with a frame having lateral connector portions having a stiffening member. The mask assembly may include a nose height adjustment device for the height of the cushion, or a cushion adjustment member by which the position of the cushion may be adjusted relative to the frame. The mask assembly may include a chin strap assembly.

摘要: A mandibular positioning device for use with headgear for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (“CPAP”) therapy face masks. The device can be integrated with existing headgear to maintain the position of a user's mandible during sleep while using CPAP therapy in order to prevent displacement of the user's face mask as a result of a posterior shift of the mandible. The device can include a pair of saddles for attaching the device to headgear, as well as a support strap which attaches to each saddle and which has a medial portion disposed underneath the user's chin when worn.

摘要: An apparatus for controlling positioning of a subject's jawbone including an expandable device expandable to apply a force on the subject's jawbone in a direction of an anterior position with respect to a subject's skull; a mounting device holding the expandable device in proximity to the subject's jawbone to facilitate application of the force on the subject's jawbone and configured to position the expandable device behind the subject's jawbone such that application of the force on the subject's jawbone rotates the subject's jawbone relative to the subject's skull towards the anterior position; and a control system configured to control the force in response to the control system receiving an indication of a change in at least one of: an oxygen level of the subject; a gas flow rate of therapy gas supplied to the subject; a position and/or orientation of the subject; and/or a sleep state of the subject.

摘要: An improvement in the apparatus to secure a nasal cannula used with continuous positive airway pressure machines used with infants in neonatal intensive care units. A soft knit hat with slots is used to secure air hoses feeding the cannula. Elastic straps thread through the slots to secure the hoses to the infant's head. A chin strap is used to hold the baby's mouth closed to prevent air leakage while the cannula is in use. The hat also includes a set of horizontal slots in the center of the hat to attach a required eye shield. The device allows the infant to sleep on one side without hoses and tubes getting in the way. It also allows a parent to hold the child comfortably. Hoses can be secured to a chair or bed with a hose strap.

摘要: The ventilation interface for sleep apnea therapy interfaces a ventilation device to the patient's airways. The ventilation interface includes a pair of nasal inserts made from flexible, resilient silicone which are oval shaped in cross-section and slightly tapered from a base proximal the ventilation supply to the distal tip end. A bead flange is disposed about the exterior of each insert at the distal end of the insert. A bleed port for release of exhaled air is defined through a conical vent projecting normally to the path of the incoming air flow, and continues through a nipple extending to the exterior of the air conduit. In one embodiment, a pair of nasal inserts are integral with a nasal cannula body, with bleed ports axially aligned with each insert. In another embodiment, each insert is independently connected to a separate, thin-walled, flexible supply line.

摘要: The Non stretch, loop fastening NEO-prene, used in my various products, for our sick & premature neonate's, allows more effective & secure CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) therapy. It also decreases the risks of pressure injury like skin pressure areas, burns, nasal septal damage & deformation of the preterm head (“Prem Head”). It helps prevent loss of CPAP air pressure (“pop off”), as well as decrease retinal damage of the eyes, & inaccurate oxygen saturation readings leading to poor oxygen management in neonates. It also contributes to developmental care of the neonate by limiting damaging loud noises & bright lights, which have detrimental neurological consequences for neonatal development.
