Abstract: An industrial process vessel insulation monitoring system for monitoring an insulated section of a process vessel containing a process material includes one or more condition sensors and a controller. The condition sensors are configured to sense at least one environmental condition, such as temperature, humidity, moisture level, and/or chemical composition, and generate condition outputs that are indicative of the corresponding sensed condition. The controller is configured to detect at least one section condition relating to the insulated section based on the condition output, and generate condition information relating to the at least one detected section condition. Examples of the section conditions include a thermal resistance of an insulation of the insulated section, damage or degradation to an insulation of the insulated section, corrosion of the process vessel at the insulated section, conditions that promote corrosion of the process vessel, and moisture intrusion to the insulation.

Abstract: A differential pressure transmitter configured to provide an absolute pressure measurement is presented. The differential pressure sensor comprises a first process fluid inlet. The differential pressure sensor also comprises a second process fluid inlet. The differential pressure sensor also comprises a differential pressure sensor operably coupled to the first and second process fluid inlets. The differential pressure sensor also comprises an absolute pressure cap coupled to the second pressure inlet. The cap comprises a volume of gas within an expansion feature. The volume of gas has a reference pressure. The expansion feature is configured to allow for expansion of the volume of gas in response to a temperature increase, such that the volume of gas maintains the reference pressure.

Abstract: A process pressure transmitter system includes a process pressure transmitter housing, a process pressure sensor in the process pressure transmitter housing, a flange face in the process pressure transmitter housing and an isolation diaphragm on the flange face. A first capillary passageway carries a first fill fluid from the isolation diaphragm to the process pressure sensor. A process seal diaphragm couples to a process fluid of the industrial process. A second capillary passageway carries a second fill fluid from the process seal diaphragm to the isolation diaphragm. A diamond like carbon (DLC) coating coats the process seal diaphragm.

Abstract: An acoustic measurement system for an industrial process asset includes a process measurement device providing a value representative of an acoustic signal near the industrial process asset based in part on a signal from an acoustic sensor positioned near the industrial process asset. A second acoustic sensor provides an acoustic value and a noise reduction component uses the acoustic value from the second acoustic sensor to affect the value provided by the process measurement device so that the value provided by the process measurement device is more representative of an acoustic signal generated by the industrial process asset.

Abstract: An industrial process transmitter includes a main housing, a sensor body, and a flange member. The main housing contains transmitter circuitry and includes a first threaded portion. The sensor body includes a process sensor and a second threaded portion in threaded engagement with the first threaded portion. One of the first and second threaded portions includes a threaded cylindrical projection, and the other includes a threaded cylindrical bore. The flange member is received within a groove of the projection. Movement of the sensor body relative to the housing along an axis of the bore is restricted to an axial distance through engagement between the flange and the first or second threaded portion that includes the threaded cylindrical bore, and engagement between the main housing and the sensor body. Rotation of the sensor body relative to the housing about the axis is limited by the axial distance.

Abstract: A differential pressure sensor module includes a base having a pair of process fluid pressure inlets and defining a sensor chamber having a sensor chamber inlet. A differential pressure sensor is disposed within the sensor chamber and has an inlet configured to receive a first pressure and provide a signal indicative of a difference between the first pressure and a sensor chamber pressure external to the differential pressure sensor within the sensor chamber. A pair of isolation diaphragms are provided in substantially the same plane, with each isolation diaphragm sealing a respective process fluid pressure inlet. A first fluid passageway is operably coupled to one of the isolation diaphragms and the inlet of the differential pressure sensor. A second fluid passageway is operably coupled to the other of the isolation diaphragms and to the sensor chamber inlet. An overpressure protection feature is operably coupled to the sensor chamber, the first fluid passageway and the second fluid passageway.

Abstract: A pressure sensor includes an elongate body which deforms in response to an applied pressure having a cavity formed therein. An isolation diaphragm seals the cavity from a process fluid and is configured to deflect in response to applied process pressure from the process fluid. An isolation fill fluid in the cavity applies pressure to the elongate body in response to deflection of the isolation diaphragm thereby causing deflection of the elongate body. A deformation sensor is coupled to the elongate body and provides a sensor output in response to deformation of the elongate body which is indicative of the process pressure.
