    摘要： A hand-held, focusable beam flashlight has a barrel portion, a head unit, and a socket/switch assembly coupling the head unit to the barrel portion. The barrel portion has only one open end, thus eliminating the need for a tail cap. The socket/switch assembly is mounted on the open end of the barrel and retains one or more power cells therein. The switching mechanism is independent of the force necessary to maintain the power cell in electrical contact with the socket/switch assembly. The head unit is formed to controllably translate axially relative to the socket/switch assembly. The head unit includes means mechanically coupled to the switching mechanism whereby the electrical circuit to the flashlight bulb may be switched off and on as the head unit translates along the socket/switch assembly. The switching mechanism has essentially no slack, and therefore switching occurs with only a small axial movement of the head unit.

    摘要： An electrical switch and a flashlight employing the switch may comprise a base having electrical conductors thereon and an electrically conductive flexible dome. The flexible dome has plural longer legs extending from its dome and in electrical contact with a first conductor, has a shorter leg extending from its dome and overlying a second conductor, and has its dome overlying a third conductor. A pushbutton may be moved to apply actuation force to cause the shorter leg to contact the second conductor and the dome to contact the third conductor.

    摘要： A rechargeable flashlight and charging assembly are provided in which the charger has a receptacle for vertically receiving a flashlight therein. The charger further has a second receptacle for holding an auxiliary battery, and a latch for securely holding the auxiliary battery in the second receptacle. The flashlight is formed to removably contain a battery assembly. A pivotal cover member of the flashlight provides access to the battery compartment and has a pair of conductors situated therein for connection to charging contacts within the charging receptacle.

    摘要： A pocket-sized flashlight may comprise a hollow cylindrical housing, a solid state light source at a forward end thereof and a switch at a rearward end thereof. The switch selectively connects the solid state light source and two or more batteries, preferably size AAAA batteries, in the housing in circuit for causing the solid state light source to produce light. The pocket-sized flashlight preferably is a relatively long and slim flashlight, wherein its length is between about 12.6 times and about 17.4 times its diameter.
