Abstract:
A method and apparatus for continuously carrying out spinning and stretching operations on extruded synthetic filaments, wherein, between a conventional spinning apparatus and a conventional stretching apparatus for continuous treatment of the filaments, a bending and stretching action is imparted to the filaments by means of stationary bending means adapted to exert a predetermined frictional resistance on the running filaments.
Abstract:
PRODUCTION OF A TWO-COMPONENT UNITARY FILAMENT HAVING A GIVEN UNIFORM CROSS-SECTIONAL CONFIGURATION AND COMPRISING SHEATH AND CORE PORTIONS CONSISTING OF A FIRST AND A SECOND SYNTHETIC POLYMERS RESPECTIVELY, AND PRODUCED BY SEPARATELY FLUIDIFYING SAID POLYMERS AND SIMULTANEOUSLY AND CONCURRENTLY FEEDING BOTH POLYMERS THROUGH A COMMON SPINNERET ORIFICE FOR EXTRUDING THEREFROM A COMPOSITE FILAMENTS, WHEREIN THE SAID SECOND POLYMERS FORMS A PART OF ITS CROSS-SECTION, SAID PART BEING BOTH INWARDLY AND OUTWARDLY ENCLOSED BY SAID FIRST POLYMER AND ITS MAJOR PORTION IS LOCATED OUTSIDE THE CONCENTRIC 1/2 SIMILAR SHAPE OF THE CORSS-SECTION OF THE FILAMENT.
Abstract:
Composite filament having an elastic crimping property, comprised of at least two components disposed in an eccentric sheath-core relation along the longitudinal axis of the filament, in which one component is composed of a polyester consisting mainly of polyethylene terephthalate and another component or components comprise highly shrinkable polyamide having a shrinking percentage of 15-80 percent and the percent by weight of the core or cores in the filament is 5-50. It is preferable that the core component is composed of the polyester and the sheath component is composed of the polyamide. Furthermore, the eccentricity of the sheath-core relation is preferably at least 5. The core component may be constituted with a plurality number of cores.
Abstract:
Production of polyamide composite filament having high crimpability, one component of which is polycapramide and the other component of which is a copolyamide consisting of 0.01 to 5 percent by weight of nylon salt composed of a dicarboxylic acid and a polyfunctional diamine having the general formula H2N(CH2)n-R(CH2)n-NH2, wherein R is >CHCl or >CHBr and n is 3 to 11, 3 to 20 percent by weight of another nylon salt and 75 to 95 percent by weight of polycapramide forming components.
Abstract:
Synthetic high polymers, such as polyamides, polyolefins, polystyrenes, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, copolymers thereof and polymer blends thereof can be prevented from electrification by incorporating homogeneously imidazole or its derivatives into said high polymers. The amount of the imidazole or a derivative thereof added is 0.005 to 20 percent by weight based on the amount of the high polymer.
Abstract:
A method for producing nonsticky copolyamide-containing fibers wherein at least one normal paraffin selected from the group consisting of methane series hydrocarbons represented by the formula CnH2n 2, wherein n is an integer of at least 14, is dispersed homogeneously in a copolyamide melt. The so-melted copolyamide is then extruded through a spinning nozzle simultaneously with a homopolyamide melt.
