Abstract:
The present invention relates to obovatol compound isolated from Magnolia obovata Thunb. for the prevention and treatment of anxiety disorders involved with CNS. The obovatol compound isolated from Magnolia obovata Thunb. have potent anti-anxiety activity, verified by an increased percentage of time on the open arms, an increased number of entries into, time spent on, the distal portion of the open arms, and a decreased activity of locomotor. Therefore it can be used as the therapeutics or health care food for treating and preventing anxiety disorders.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of restenosis following a blood vessel injury procedure, comprising obovatol as an active ingredient.
Abstract:
An antenna of a plasma processing apparatus includes first and second wiring groups that respectively are electrically coupled to different RF power source. The first wiring group is formed on an internal region and an intermediate region, and the first wiring group transfers a power of a first RF power source from the intermediate region to the internal region. The second wiring group is formed on the intermediate region and an outer region. The second wiring group receives a power of a second RF power source from the intermediate region, or alternatively from the outer region. The frequency of the second RF power applied to the second wiring group is lower than the frequency of the first RF power applied to the first wiring group, thereby reducing the plasma loss at the outer region.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus and method for low distortion display in a portable communication terminal. In the apparatus, a comparator calculates an overall scaling coefficient. A dividing unit divides the source image into a predetermined number of parts and calculates individual frequency values of the divided image parts using Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT). An aspect ratio adjustment unit calculates individual scaling coefficients of the divided image parts using the overall scaling coefficient and the individual frequency values of the divided image parts, and scales the divided image parts according to the individual scaling coefficients respectively. A combining unit combines the scaled image parts into a single complete image. The display unit displays the single complete image combined in the combining unit.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing a suitable soft keyboard for end users to conveniently enter data to a portable information terminal that can not provide concurrently multiple character set keyboards, such as Korean, English, and Numeric keyboards. A data input assisting method displays an input window including a plurality of input fields when data input is requested. The input window identifies an input data set among English, Numeric, and non-English character sets suitable to an input field, which is selected for information input on the displayed input window, and provides a soft keyboard of touch screen or the like including the identified character set. Therefore, data input is ensured when a user must select and enter non-English (e.g., Korean), English, or Numeric data to match information type of each data field to be stored in a portable information terminal, such as a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA).
Abstract:
A washing machine having a wobbling device. The wobbling device causes a wobbling action of a washboard without rotating the washboard during a washing mode operation, thus effectively washing the clothes. This wobbling device includes a vertical rotary shaft rotated by a washing shaft, and an inclined rotary shaft arranged above the vertical rotary shaft. A first rotary unit couples the inclined rotary shaft to the vertical rotary shaft, thus rotating the two shafts at the same time. An upper surface of the first rotary unit forms a first sloping surface inclined at an angle of inclination. A second rotary unit rotatably receives the inclined rotary shaft therein, and is provided at its lower surface with a second sloping surface corresponding to the first sloping surface of the first rotary unit. A plurality of pins control the relative positions of the first and second sloping surfaces, thus changing the position of the upper surface of the second rotary unit between a horizontal position and an inclined position. A washboard is arranged outside the second rotary unit, and is changed between a wobbling position and a leveled position in accordance with an operation of the pins.
Abstract:
A VCR for performing a high-speed searching process includes: a video signal input for outputting a video signal sent from a plurality of photographing sections; an encoder for encoding channel information and time information relative to the video signal, and for adding the encoded information to the vertical blanking interval of the video signal; a recording/reproducing section for recording the signal composed by the encoder and reproducing the recorded video signal; a decoder for extracting the channel information and time information inserted by the encoder from video signals outputted from the reproducing section, and for decoding them; a controller for inverting a control pulse at predetermined time intervals when the video signal is recorded to record a point in time within the predetermined time intervals, for searching the recorded point in time within the predetermined time intervals in a high-speed mode based on the channel information and time information transmitted from the decoder when automatic searching is performed during reproduction, and for converting the mode of the VCR into a standard mode, starting from the searched point in time, when a desired point in time has been searched; and a video signal output for externally outputting the video signal sent from the reproducing section.

Abstract:
A semiconductor device mask and a method for forming the same is provided in which a mask pattern defines dummy active regions in isolating regions. The semiconductor device mask and method reduce surface unevenness and prevent damage to an active region, which have been problems in isolating devices by trenches. The semiconductor device mask includes real active pattern regions formed in regions defined as the active regions in a mask having an isolating region and the active regions. A plurality of dummy active pattern regions preferably spaced at fixed intervals from one another surrounding relatively isolated active regions and excluding gate pattern forming regions. The gate pattern forming regions are preferably formed extending in one direction across the isolating region and the real active pattern regions.
