Abstract: An electronic device includes processors that generate image data. The electronic device also includes an electronic display that displays the image data over a first frame duration by programming a first row of display pixels with the image data. The electronic display also displays the image data over the first frame duration by causing the first row of display pixels to emit light for an emission duration that is based at least in part on a first luminance of the image data. The electronic display further displays the image data over the first frame duration by resetting the first row of pixels at least two times before an end of the first frame duration.

Abstract: An apparatus receives current image frame data and data relating to at least one previous image frame for an electronic display. One or more parameters related to hysteresis of transistors in the electronic display are sensed. A correlation device, such as a look-up table, receives the sensed parameter or parameters and the data relating to one or more image frames, and uses this information, at least in part, to output an appropriate compensation signal for the current image frame data. The compensated current image frame data may then be supplied to the electronic display to reduce or eliminate the effects of hysteresis on the displayed image.

The switching transistors, emission transistors, and drive transistors may include semiconducting-oxide transistors and silicon transistors and may be n-channel transistors or p-channel transistors.

Abstract: An electronic device may have a camera. The camera may capture still and moving images. A camera status indicator may be included in the electronic device. The camera status indicator may emit light to indicate when the camera is in use capturing video or other images. The camera status indicator may have multiple light-emitting devices such as light-emitting diodes or lasers. The light-emitting devices may have different colors. Clear encapsulant may cover the light-emitting devices. A white polymer wall or other light recycling structure may run along an outer peripheral edge of the encapsulant. A light diffusing coating layer may coat an outer surface of the clear encapsulant. Light reflections from the status indicator may be reduced in captured images.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for adjusting image display on an electronic display by predicting a temperature change of the electronic display due to heat-producing components near the display or due to changes in content. An electronic device may include an electronic display and processing circuitry. The electronic display may include pixels with behaviors that vary with temperature. As such, the processing circuitry may generate image data to send to the electronic display and adjust the image data or vary an operation of the electronic display based at least in part on a predicted temperature effect on at least part of the active area of the electronic display. The processing circuitry may determine the predicted temperature effect at least in part due to a first heat producing component or changes in content of the image data.

Abstract: Systems and methods to compensate for color fringe visual artifacts due at least in part to subpixel locations on an electronic display are provided. An electronic device may include subpixel layout compensation circuitry (SLCC) and an electronic display. The SLCC may receive first image data and an indication of spatial positions of subpixels that make up pixels of an electronic display. The SLCC may generate second image data based at least in part on the first image data and the indication of the spatial positions of the subpixels. The second image data may reduce or eliminate a color fringe artifact that would otherwise occur without compensation.
