    摘要: Compounds that include a targeting moiety bound to a regioselective leaving group are useful for preparing imaging agents. The imaging agents can be isolated from by-products derived from the leaving group based on differences in the chemical attributes (e.g., net charge or polarity) of the molecules or physical attributes of the molecules through the use of a solid support. Methods of producing an imaging agent include the steps of providing a compound that includes a targeting moiety bound to a support via a linker group that contains a site for regioselective substitution of a detectable species, contacting the compound with a solution containing the detectable species, and recovering the imaging agent. Kits which include a first container having therein a solution containing a detectable species and a second container having therein a compound that includes a targeting moiety bound to a support via a leaving group that contains a site for regioselective substitution of the detectable species are also useful for preparing imaging agents.

    摘要: A method of treating wastewater to increase effluent volatile fatty acid content consisting of providing wastewater to a primary treatment vessel and adding a select quantity of a chemical, typically an aluminum or iron salt, to the wastewater, enhancing the separation of organic matter. Separated organic matter is then removed from the chemically treated wastewater forming a primary sludge and a primary effluent. A portion of the primary sludge is fermented to form a volatile fatty acid rich liquor. The volatile fatty acid rich liquor may then be used with the primary effluent, directed to a bioreactor, thereby forming a volatile fatty acid enriched bioreactor feed. The volatile fatty acid enriched influent may be further treated through known biological phosphorous and nitrogen removal methods.

    摘要: In a cooling system for the leading-edge region of a hollow gas-turbine blade, a duct (3), through which flow occurs longitudinally, extends from the blade root up to the blade tip and is defined in the region of the blade body (4) by the inner walls of the leading edge (5), the suction side (6) and the pressure side (7) and by a web (8). The inner walls of the suction side and the pressure side are provided with a plurality of ribs (9), which run slantwise and at least approximately in parallel. The suction-side ribs and the pressure-side ribs are offset from one another over the blade height. The ribs (9) run radially inward from the web (8) in the direction of the leading edge (5), merge into the radial in the region of the leading edge and are led around the leading edge. The deviation of the ribs (9) from the slant into the radial is effected with the smallest possible radius. The ratio of the height (h) of the ribs (9) to the local height (H) of the duct (3) is constant over the longitudinal extent of the ribs.

    摘要: An ostomy output diversion device is used to cover and seal closely around a patient's stoma, to divert stoma effluent output through the device, through a drain tube and into a container or reservoir, temporarily eliminating the need of an adhesive-based ostomy pouching system. The ostomy output diversion device is placed over the person's stoma, with the base ring surrounding the peristomal skin, the adjustable inner tube is retracted until the base ring is centered over the stoma, the body support strap is then placed over the device to secure it to the patient's body, the inner tube with stoma-sized adapter is then extended over the stoma, the patient applies the desired pressure against the skin, then secures the stoma-sized adapter in place with the pressure adjustment lock. The device may also include an ostomy pouch mounting ring for attachment to an ostomy pouch, and a disposable receptacle.
