Abstract: A needleless access connector having an access port and a sustained release antimicrobial coating only on a top surface of the access port is disclosed. The top surface of the access port can be defined by a top surface of a proximal end of a housing and a top surface of a head portion of a compressible valve disposed within an internal cavity of the housing. In certain embodiments of the present disclosure, the sustained release antimicrobial coating is on: (i) the top surface the proximal end of the housing, or (ii) the top surface of the head portion of the compressible valve, or (iii) the sustained release antimicrobial coating is only on both the top surface the proximal end of the housing and the top surface of the head portion of the compressible valve.

Abstract: A needleless connector may include a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and an inner surface defining an internal cavity extending between the proximal and distal ends. A compressible valve may be disposed within the internal cavity. The compressible valve may include a head portion, a flange portion for securing the compressible valve in the housing, and a body portion extending between the head portion and the flange portion. The body portion may include a cylindrical outer surface having an external notch extending along a portion of a circumference of the cylindrical outer surface and recessed radially-inward from the cylindrical outer surface. The body portion may further include a planar face extending distally from the external notch and disposed between the external notch and the flange portion. The planar face may be recessed radially inward relative to at least a portion of the cylindrical outer surface.

Abstract: Couplers are described herein. A coupler includes a coupler body, a plurality of first retaining fingers, and a plurality of second retaining fingers. The coupler body includes a first end and a second end, and defining a cavity, the cavity configured to receive a first connector and a second connector. The plurality of first retaining fingers are configured to engage against a collar of the first connector to prevent axial motion of the first connector relative to the coupler. The plurality of second retaining fingers are configured to engage against a shoulder of the second connector with a retention force, and release the second connector by radially expanding in response to a pullout force exerted on the second connector exceeding the retention force.

Abstract: A fluid delivery Y-site is described that is configured to receive and control delivery of two or more fluid flows. Fluid flow is controlled within a chamber by a valve and float. Flow of a primary fluid into the chamber is reduced or halted by the movement of a valve. The valve may occlude a first flow port into the chamber in response fluid flowing from a second flow port into the chamber. A float is moveably disposed within the chamber and configured to engage the valve in response a fluid flow into the chamber from the second flow port. As fluid flow from the second flow port into the chamber is reduced or ceases, the valve and float allow the flow from the primary flow port to once again enter the chamber and exit from an outlet port.

Abstract: IV spikes are described herein. An IV spike includes a spike body. The spike body can be formed of a first material and can include a spike portion converging to a point. The IV spike further includes at least one spike flow port formed through the spike body. The IV spike further includes a lower flow port in fluid communication with the at least one spike flow port. The IV spike can also include an overmolded engagement feature disposed around the spike body, wherein the overmolded engagement feature comprises a second material and is configured to retain the IV spike within an IV container.
