Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for operating a power save mode in a wireless LAN system. The method involves transmitting a power save multi-poll (PSMP) frame containing a power save mode (PSM) of a non-access point (AP) station (STA) to a first station and to a second station which are paired with an AP on the basis of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technology. Information on the PSM contains downlink transmission start offset which indicates the point in time of starting a downlink transmission period, a downlink transmission duration which indicates the duration of the downlink transmission period, and transmission object station identification information. The method further involves transmitting a data frame to the first station and to the second station on the basis of the MIMO technology during the downlink transmission period. The transmission object station identification information indicates a group identifier (group ID) for indicating an object station group including the first station and the second station, which are object stations to which the AP transmits the data frame on the basis of the MIMO technology.

A method of power saving in a wireless local area network is provided. The method, performed by a wireless device, includes acquiring TXOP (transmission opportunity) from access point (AP), the TXOP indicating an interval of time when the AP has the right to transmit at least one data block for multi user-multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmission, receiving a power saving indicator from the AP, the power saving indicator indicating whether the AP allows to enter doze state during the TXOP, and entering the doze state until the end of the TXOP if the power saving indicator indicates an allowance of entering the doze state.
Abstract:
Provided is a method of receiving a physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) by an access point (AP) in a wireless local area (LAN) system. The method includes: allocating a first transmission channel bandwidth to a first station (STA) which is multiple input multiple output (MIMO)-paired with the AP; allocating a second transmission channel bandwidth to a second STA which is MIMO-paired with the AP; transmitting to the first STA and the second STA a sync trigger for determining a time point at which the first STA transmits a first PPDU and a time point at which the second STA transmits a second PPDU; and receiving simultaneously the first PPDU and the second PPDU from the first STA and the second STA.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for allowing a station to transmit a sounding signal in a multiple-antenna wireless communication system, the method including receiving a group defining information about a group to which the station belongs from an access point (AP); determining a transmission time taken in transmitting a sounding signal by the respective stations, which belong to the group, on the basis of the group defining information; and transmitting a sounding signal to the AP in accordance with the transmission time and preset transmission order when receiving a sounding request signal from the AP.
Abstract:
A method of allocating a channel in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system is provided. The method includes generating a MAC protocol data unit (MPDU) to be transmitted to a target station (STA), generating a PLCP protocol data unit (PPDU) by attaching a physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) header to the MPDU, and transmitting the PPDU to the STA, wherein the PLCP header includes channel allocation information for transmission of the PPDU.
Abstract:
An interference avoidance method performed by an access point (AP) in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system is provided. The method includes: transmitting a training request (TRQ) message for requesting transmission of a sounding frame to a first station which is a target of multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmission and a second station which receives data through a direct link during the MU-MIMO transmission; receiving first and second sounding frames respectively transmitted by the first and second stations in response to the TRQ message; estimating a channel by using the first sound frame to determine a beam-forming vector to be used for the MU-MIMO transmission; and performing the MU-MIMO transmission for MU-MIMO transmission target stations including the first station, wherein the beam-forming vector is determined such that the MU-MIMO transmission has a minimum effect on the second station by considering channel information between the AP and the second station and acquired on the basis of the second sounding frame received from the second station.
Abstract:
A method of indicating destination stations, performed by an access point (AP), in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system supporting multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) is provided. The method includes transmitting a sounding request frame to the plurality of destination stations to transmit a sounding frame used for channel estimation between the AP and each destination station, receiving the sounding frame in response to the sounding frame request from each station, and transmitting a first data frame spatially multiplexed with respect to the plurality of destination stations by performing channel estimation on the basis of the sounding frame, wherein the sounding request frame comprises a group identifier (ID) indicating the plurality of destination stations.

Abstract:
A method for a power save mode operation in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system is provided. The method includes transmitting, by an access point (AP), a traffic indication map (TIM) element that announces existence of buffered traffic, wherein the TIM element includes an association ID (AID) assigned to a buffered STA having the buffered traffic when the buffered station (STA) is associated with the AP; receiving, by the AP, a poll frame for requesting data frame transmission from a candidate STA, wherein the poll frame contains an AID of the candidate STA and a medium access control (MAC) address which is a unique identifying information of the candidate STA; and determining, by the AP, whether the candidate STA is the buffered STA on the basis of the AID and the MAC address of the candidate STA.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of requesting a channel access in a wireless local area network is provided. A transmitter transmits a plurality of Request To Send (RTS) frames over a plurality of requesting channels and receives at least one Clear To Send (CTS) frame over at least one responding channel as a response for the plurality of RTS frames. Each of the plurality of RTS frames indicates a bandwidth for the plurality of requesting channels, and the at least one CTS frame indicates a bandwidth for the at least one responding channel.
