摘要: An ergonomic stringed instrument is described, presenting a novel ergonomic design incorporating one or more of an angled waist, provided as part of the waist portion of the stringed instrument bowl or body, and a contoured ridge, provided along at least a portion of the back of the stringed instrument bowl or body. The angled waist is provided on the treble side of the stringed instrument, which side may rest on the leg of a performer, and is configured with an angled contour towards the back of the stringed instrument. The contoured ridge runs along at least a portion of the bass side of the stringed instrument back and defines at least a slightly concave portion on the treble side of the contoured ridge.

摘要: Disclosed is a lower pressure xenon lamp (12) and the driver circuitry therefor for producing relatively short bursts of intense light from the lamp (12). The lamp (12), including its associated driver circuitry (50) can be used in theatrical, stage, movie and/or video production to simulate, among other things, bursts of lighting. The lamp (12) is installed in a fixture together with a power supply (20) and a control system (50) is provided for controlling when the lamp (12) is turned on and off. Preferably, the control system (50) includes manually operated switches (53, 57, 54) and preferably one or more controllers (50) can be coupled together in a series fashion, should it be desired to control the lamp (12) for a greater number of time cycles then permitted by a single controller (50). Alternative power supplies (20) are disclosed. One power supply (20) permits the intensity of the flashes of light (12) to be controlled.

摘要: In one embodiment, an electronic cymbal system includes a first pickup configured to generate an electrical signal representative of vibrations in a first cymbal, and a controller configured to receive the first electrical signal and to process the first electrical signal to generate an output. The controller includes a digital signal processor (DSP) configured to subject a version of the first electrical signal to a digital signal processing technique. The digital signal processing technique includes one or more of dynamic range compression, expansion, frequency equalization, harmonic excitation, comb filtering, and pitch shifting. The cymbals may be any of variety of known cymbals, such as hi-hat, crash and ride cymbals, and may be of the perforated type configured to reduce noise for indoor use. Lighting control may be provided to illuminate the cymbal for functional or aesthetic purposes.

摘要: The invention provides a method to compensate for degradation in a tunable laser and ensure its performance by tracking the degradation and adjusting the control information accordingly. This is accomplished by performing some measurements of the output of the tunable laser at an initial setup or calibration procedure. Then, by effecting a periodic repetition of these measurements and using a comparison between these two measurements the present invention provides for a compensation factor for the operating conditions, primarily in the form of a look up table of operating points of the laser. These measurements show how much the operating points of the laser have drifted over the period since the last set of measurements, which provide control informatIon to compensate for degradation in the laser.

摘要: A shunt includes a first occlusion assembly and a second occlusion assembly. The first occlusion assembly includes a first occlusion fluid conduit that carries an inflation fluid from a fluid source to a first balloon of the shunt. The second occlusion assembly includes a second occlusion fluid conduit that carries an inflation fluid from a fluid source to a second balloon of the shunt. The first occlusion assembly includes a first color and the second fluid assembly includes a second color, distinct from the first color. The distinctive colorings of the first and second occlusion fluid conduits remain visible within an operative field during an endarterectomy procedure and allow a user to distinguish the first occlusion assembly from the second occlusion assembly during the procedure.
