摘要: A manometer integrated into a manual resuscitator includes a housing with a communication path, and a pressure gauge integrally forming part of the housing. A sensing chamber and an atmospheric chamber are separated by a diaphragm subject to distortion by differential pressure between the chambers, with a spring to restore the diaphragm upon equalization of the pressures. A shaft journaled in a first bearing on the diaphragm and a second bearing in one of the chambers rotates in the bearings upon diaphragm distortion, and an indicator on the shaft indicates differences in pressure between the chambers.

摘要: Liquid fuel injectors are provided. The liquid fuel injectors allow the injection of a fine spray of liquid fuel. The liquid fuel injectors utilize a schrader valve movable between an open position and a closed position. When the schrader valve is in the closed position fuel flow is blocked and purge gas is allowed to flow through the fuel injectors. When the schrader valve is in the open position, the flow of purge gas is blocked and fuel is allowed to flow through the fuel injector. In this manner, the fuel injectors provide for an immediate and automatic purge of the fuel lines when the fuel flow is shut off.

摘要: Microelectronic spring contacts with fiducial alignment marks for use on a semiconductor wafer contactor or similar apparatus, and methods for making such marks, are disclosed. Each alignment mark is placed on a pad adjacent to a contact tip. The alignment mark is positioned on the pad so that it will not contact the terminal or any other part of a wafer under test. The alignment mark and the contact tip are preferably positioned on the pad in the same lithographic step. Then, the pad and like pads, selected ones of which also have similar alignment marks, are attached to the ends of an array of resilient contact elements. A plurality of alignment marks in accurate registration with a plurality of contact tips on a contactor is thus disclosed. Configurations for ensuring that the alignment marks remain free of debris and easily located for essentially the entire life of the contactor are disclosed, as are various different exemplary shapes of alignment marks.

摘要: A gaseous reactant supply apparatus for turning high flow rates of gaseous supply approximately 90 degrees and providing a uniform distribution of gaseous supply. The gaseous supply passes through a venturi throat. Straightening vanes can be positioned inside the venturi throat to reduce rotational motion the gaseous reactant supply may have upon entering the venturi throat. The gaseous reactant supply apparatus exhibits lower pressure drops than exhibited by apparatus of the prior art.

摘要: Novel gas separation apparatus and methods are provided that help reduce the amount of process gas lost through the discharge outlet of either a cyclone separating gas/solid mixtures or a hydroclone separating gas/liquid mixtures. Significant savings are realized by minimizing losses and neutralization costs. A cyclone or hydroclone is placed within a containment vessel that creates a contained atmosphere common to both the gas outlet and the discharge outlet of the cyclone or hydroclone. Process gas mixed with the solids or mixed with the liquids in the discharge underflow are displaced from the discharge underflow and contained within the containment vessel. The displacement of the process gas is facilitated by an introduction of a small amount of purge gas to the discharge underflow exiting the cyclone or hydroclone via the discharge outlet. The mixture of displaced process gas and purge gas migrates to the top of the containment vessel where it is merged with the gas overflow exiting the cyclone or hydroclone via the gas outlet.

摘要: The invention resides in improvements to refrigeration systems which rely on circulation of refrigerant gas through compression and expansion phases, and thereby discharging heat from a fluid to be cooled. The refrigeration systems of the invention include a refrigerant loop (24) and a lubricating oil loop (26). The oil loop includes a high capacity-to-volume oil to air oil cooler (48), for cooling the lubricating oil in the oil loop (26). The oil cooler includes a fan, and a variable speed drive for controlling the speed of rotation of the fan. The Preferred refrigerant is ammonia. Incorporating the above improvements into refrigeration systems enables an overall reduction in system sizing, and constancy in the temperature of the oil at the exit of the oil cooler. Such systems, having heat exchange capacity of at least 200,000 Btu/hr., up to at least 500,000 Btu/hr., can be mounted in a frame (14) whereby the overall refrigeration unit (10) comprising refrigeration system (13) and frame (14) can fit a standard 80,000 pound capacity truck. Preferred embodiments do not require cooling water; the only required utilities being a motive power source, used primarily to power the compressor (30). The shut-off valve (44) between the compressor and the heat source heat exchanger (28) is used to trap refrigerant in the heat source heat exchanger (28) when the refrigeration system (13) is shut down.

摘要: A skinfold caliper for self-measuring a skinfold thickness to calculate body fat, comprising, a first hand and a second hand and an integrated pressure sensor for sensing the pressure applied to a skinfold when the skin contact tips of the caliper hands are engaged with the base of a skinfold held by an opposing hand. When the optimum pressure is achieved, a button with a raised dome attached to the sensor emits an audible click to signal to the user, to stop applying further pressure. The skinfold caliper has a measurement ruler having a metric scale with measurements in millimeters on both sides of the ruler so that the caliper can be read from both sides by a right handed as well as a left handed person. A double-sided marker that slides along the ruler and indicates results of a skinfold measurement can be removed and reinstalled on the ruler.
