Abstract: Systems and methods for providing lubricant from a first compressor to a second compressor are provided. A control module receives a start command for a climate-control system having the first and second compressors, allows lubricant from the first compressor to flow into an inlet of the second compressor, turns the second compressor to an ON-mode, and prevents lubricant from the first compressor from flowing into the inlet of the second compressor after the second compressor has been in the ON-mode for a predetermined time period.

Abstract: A compressor may include a shell assembly, a non-orbiting scroll, and an orbiting scroll. The shell assembly may define a discharge chamber. The non-orbiting scroll includes a first end plate and a first spiral wrap extending from the first end plate. The first end plate may include a variable-volume-ratio port. The orbiting scroll may be disposed within the discharge chamber. The orbiting scroll includes a second end plate and a second spiral wrap extending from the second end plate and cooperating with the first spiral wrap to define a plurality of fluid pockets therebetween. The second end plate may include a discharge passage in communication with a radially innermost one of the fluid pockets and the discharge chamber. The variable-volume-ratio port may be disposed radially outward relative to the discharge passage and may be in selective communication with the radially innermost one of the fluid pockets.

Abstract: A system may include first and second compressors, first and second heat exchangers, a flash tank, and first, second and third fluid paths. The first compressor may include first and second inlets. The second compressor may receive fluid from an outlet of the first compressor. The first heat exchanger may receive fluid from the second compressor. The flash tank may receive fluid from the first heat exchanger and includes a vapor outlet and a liquid outlet. The second heat exchanger may be in fluid communication with the flash tank and may receive fluid from the liquid outlet. The first fluid path extends from an outlet of the second heat exchanger to an inlet of the second compressor. The second fluid path extends from the vapor outlet to the first fluid path. The third fluid path may transmit fluid from the vapor outlet to the second inlet.

Abstract: A compressor may include a shell, first and second scroll members, a partition plate and a bypass valve member. The shell defines a discharge-pressure region and a suction-pressure region. The first scroll member is disposed within the shell and may include a first end plate having a discharge passage, and first and second bypass passages extending through the first end plate. The partition plate is disposed within the shell and separates the discharge-pressure region from the suction-pressure region and includes an opening in communication with the discharge-pressure region. The bypass valve member is movable between a first position restricting fluid flow through at least one of the first and second bypass passages and the opening and a second position in allowing fluid flow through the at least one of the first and second bypass passages and the opening.

The conduit may extend through the chamber between the fitting and a suction inlet of the compression mechanism and transmit at least a portion of the fluid from the fitting to the suction inlet. The conduit may include an inlet that may be spaced apart from the fitting and an outlet that may engage the compression mechanism.

Abstract: A compressor may include first and second scrolls, a hub plate and a valve. The first scroll may include an end plate defining first and second sides, a primary discharge passage extending therethrough, and a secondary discharge passage extending therethrough and located radially outward from the primary discharge passage. The hub plate may be mounted to the first scroll and may include first and second opposite sides and a hub discharge passage in fluid communication with the primary discharge passage. The first side of the hub plate may face the second side of the end plate and may include a valve guide extending axially toward the end plate adjacent the hub discharge passage. The valve member may be secured on the valve guide for axial movement between open and closed positions to respectively allow and restrict fluid communication between the secondary discharge passage and the hub discharge passage.

Abstract: A compressor may include a crankshaft, first and second cylinder housings, first and second rotors, a divider plate, and first and second valves. The crankshaft includes first and second eccentric portions. The cylinder housings define cylindrical recesses. The rotors are disposed within respective cylindrical recesses and engage respective eccentric portions of the crankshaft. The first rotor and the first cylindrical recess define a first compression chamber therebetween. The second rotor and the second cylindrical recess define a second compression chamber therebetween. The divider plate may be disposed between the cylinder housings and may include first and second fluid openings in communication with the first and second compression chambers. The valves may be moveable relative to the divider plate between a first position allowing fluid flow through the fluid openings and a second position restricting fluid flow through the fluid openings.
