摘要: A method and device for handling received data units at the receiving peer of a predetermined data unit exchange protocol at a given layer is described, where said method and device carry out a limited ARQ mechanism for received data units, and are characterised by providing the possibility of storing corrupted copies of received data units, and providing a data unit to an upward release handler on the basis of one or more stored corrupted copies of a given data unit after a triggering event terminating the operation of the retransmission request procedure for the given data unit.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for transmitting error-tolerant data is disclosed employing the ARQ technique, wherein the retransmission of erroneous data is performed up to the point where the remaining amount of errors is acceptable (for instance because the erorrs will not be perceived by the recipient of the information, which can be a person or a higher level protocol with additional error correction capabilities). The number of data blocks (RLC) detected as erroneous is employed to define a reliability measure (RM) and a request for retransmission of the erroneous data blocks is performed until a desired reliability threshold (RT) is reached. An additional threshold with a higher value than the first one can be employed to request for optional retransmission when the reliability measure (RM) is between the first and the second threshold. The retransmission will be performed only if further conditions such as channel availability are met.

摘要: In a communication system (SYS) in which a packet data transfer is performed between the network side (NS) and the subscriber terminal side (SS) a physical connection (LC) is maintained during the data packet transfer. An active period detector (AP-DET) detects an active period of data packet generation by evaluating the inter-arrival time (TDIFF) between successively arriving data packets (DP). If the inter-arrival time (TDIFF) falls within a predetermined range a physical connection maintaining device (LC-MAIN) maintains the physical connection (LC) even if a transmitter queue (TR-QUE) temporarily becomes empty. Therefore, within the active period (AP) the transmitter (NS-TR; SS-TR) indicates a non-empty queue. The invention finds particular application in the GPRS/(E)GPRS/GSM environment.

摘要: Various methods and apparatuses are described for an arbitration unit that implements a round robin policy. Each requesting device has an equal chance of accessing a shared resource based upon a current request priority assigned to that requesting device. The arbitration unit includes at least a state block that includes a plurality of state registers. The plurality at least includes a first state register for a first unordered pair of requesting devices, a second state register for a second unordered pair of requesting devices, and a third state register for a third unordered pair of requesting devices.

摘要: Methods and apparatuses are described for a communication system. The communication system comprises an initiator core supporting a first burst capability as well as a target core supporting a second burst capability. The supported burst features of the second burst capability differ from the supported burst features of the first burst capability. The communication system also comprises an agent coupled to the initiator core, which comprises logic to compute target-dependent burst support information across multiple groups of potential targets at the same time. The logic then selects the correct target-dependent information based upon a resulting address decode for the target selection.

摘要: An actuating control apparatus for the control of different passenger safety components of a passenger safety system in a motor vehicle. The actuating control apparatus can be controlled at its input at least by one deceleration sensor and includes a signal evaluation with a programmable actuating logic as well as a plurality of output stages. In case of an actuation signal, the output stages issue an actuation current to the passenger safety component that is to be controlled. The output stages are adapted in their electrical/electronic performance to the particular passenger safety component. At least one output stage is provided which by a preset electrical control signal is adaptable in its electrical/electronic performance to at least two different passenger safety components.

摘要: An active occupant restraint system for a motor vehicle has a central control unit and a plurality of active restraining devices with associated triggering units which are connected to the central control unit for the transmission of ignition information by an ignition bus line system having at least one ring line and/or at least one stub line. The triggering units within a respective ring and/or stub line of the ignition bus line system are arranged as a function of a predeterminable protection significance priority of the restraining devices assigned to the triggering units such that, with a decreasing protection significance priority, they are situated farther away from the central control unit. The occupant restraint system comprises one or more multistage restraining devices with pertaining triggering units, with the triggering unit pertaining to a higher stage of each multistage restraining device arranged in the corresponding ring or stub line closer to the central control unit than the triggering unit pertaining to a lower stage.

摘要: X-ray diagnostic apparatus has a beam transmitter and beam receiver mounted opposite one another on a curved holder. In a first operating mode, the curved holder is formed by at least a first circular ring segment on which the beam transmitter and the beam receiver are mounted. In a second operating mode, a second circular ring segment is coupled to the first circular ring segment so that a closed ring results. Displacement arrangements, as well as energy supply connections, are provided for the beam transmitter and the beam receiver, and a signal transmission arrangement for the beam receiver is provided, so that the beam transmitter and the beam receiver can be controlled, positioned opposite one another, so as to rotate around an examination subject. With this X-ray diagnostic apparatus, both transirradiation exposures and computed tomography exposures can be produced.

摘要: A method for producing a sector conductor for electric power cables is introduced, whereby a number of metal wires are joined closely together into a core (8) with a sector-shaped cross section. A lengthwise running metal strip is formed around the core (8) and its longitudinally abutting edges are welded into a tube (9), whose dimensions are reduced so that it lies closely against the core (8) and surrounds it.

摘要: A device for detecting seat occupancy in a motor vehicle, especially for inhibiting airbag release when a seat is unoccupied, is provided. A seat occupancy sensor has a front sensing region and a rear sensing region, which can be evaluated separately. In this way, it is possible to determine whether the front seat passenger is in a sitting position close to the front seat edge of the seat cushion, which reduces the protective effect of the airbag. This can possibly be indicated visually or audibly. As a further measure, the inhibiting of an airbag release can be provided in the case of an incorrect sitting position. The seat occupancy sensor can be a resistive membrane pressure sensor.
