摘要: A method, system, and program product transfer information from a guest virtual machine running on a host machine to a receiving machine. A monitor intercepts a request to transfer information from a sending machine, which is a guest virtual machine located on the host system, to a receiving machine. If the receiving machine is a guest virtual machine running on the host machine, the information is transferred to memory associated with the receiving machine. If, the receiving machine is not a guest virtual machine located on the host system, the information is transferred to a network.

摘要: A method and system for triggering a local emergency system using wireless means. Existing local emergency systems are exploited through an ordinary mobile user device implementing the present invention. Disadvantages of current local emergency system are overcome by facilitating a user to remotely report emergency service request with more accurate location information automatically conveyed by the present invention. A mobile user device is configured to activate an emergency service station of a local emergency system without knowing the location of the emergency service station and without physically accessing and operating the emergency service station.

摘要: An automated traffic control system provides real time alternative traffic flow solutions to address traffic congestion on a roadway. A process will pick routes to scan for real-time statistics on the traffic conditions and calculate an average vehicle speed (AVS) for that route, road, highway, etc. If the AVS drops below a historical threshold, a decision matrix is created, whereby all the real-time data is compared with historical data and provides an ideal or best alternative route for “route X”. The operator is provided this information within seconds and is allowed to make a decision to “accept pr decline” the proposed changes in routes. If the proposed changes are accepted, the changes begin to occur automatically such as but not limited to updating electronic signage, changing traffic control signals (all green to keep traffic moving), moving electronic barriers, etc.

摘要: Systems, methods and media for performing auto-migration of data among a plurality of memory devices are disclosed. In one embodiment, memory access of application program data is monitored for each of one or more application programs. The data may be stored in one or more of a plurality of memory storage devices, each with its own performance characteristics. Monitored access is evaluated to determine an optimal distribution of the application programs data, typically stored in files, among the plurality of memory storage devices. The evaluation takes into account service level requirements of each application program. Periodically, data may be automatically transferred from one memory storage device to another to achieve the determined optimal allocation among the available memory storage devices consistent with service level requirements.

摘要: A computing system comprises logical and physical layers. In the configuration of this system, operating specific device drivers are decoupled from the installer applications and are instead functionally positioned in the lower logical layer. In this new configuration, the operating system would communicate directly with the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS). The BIOS would have the drivers to communicate directly with the hardware components in the computer. This new configuration would eliminate one major step in building a computer. In addition, without this step, the construction of the computer would be faster.

摘要: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for managing messages. In response to a request by an invitee to add a third party to a messaging session with a number of parties, a stealth invite is sent to the third party. If the stealth invite is accepted, messages sent to and received from the parties are sent to the third party without the number of parties knowing of a presence of the third party in the messaging session. The addition of the third party is not announced or indicated to the other parties. The third party also is unable to send messages to the other parties, but may in some cases send messages to the invitee. A recording feature allows a party to automatically record all messages that the party can see. This feature is initiated at the beginning of a messaging session and can be set as a default.
