摘要： An electron beam apparatus comprises an electron beam source, a unit for irradiating an electron beam on a specimen, a detector for secondary electrons, an electrode for generating an electric field sufficient to draw out secondary electrons in a recess in the specimen from the recess, and a unit for generating a magnetic field for focusing secondary electrons drawn out of the recess. With this construction, the secondary electrons drawn out of the recess by the electric field reach the detector without being attracted by the electrode. By adopting this construction, a contact hole of high aspect ratio formed in a semiconductor device and having a small diameter and a large depth can be observed.

摘要： Image processing conditions for scanning and processing an original by an electronic process scanner are set by an external image processing condition setting apparatus wherein a first system of coordinates is prepared in the scanner for processing, and a second system of coordinates is prepared in the image processing condition setting apparatus for position setting. An original cylinder is commonly used by both the scanner and apparatus, and by using a marked line formed on the surface of the cylinder as a reference position, both systems of coordinates are matched. A visual monitoring device which projects an image of a register mark onto the surface of the original cylinder is used in setting the image processing conditions. The visual monitoring device magnifies the image of the mark and a peripheral area of the surface of the cylinder, thereby enabling an operator to accurately locate a given position on the cylinder.

摘要： In a linear pulse motor which includes: a movable body having an iron core provided with a coil or coils and side plates for supporting the iron core; a stationary body having magnetic circuit forming means for forming a magnetic circuit with the iron core across an air gap between the iron core and the magnetic circuit forming means; an axle fixed to the movable body, and wheels supported rotatably on end portions of the axle, respectively, and rollable on and along the stationary body; wherein the coil or coils are energized by pulses of a predetermined drive frequency to impart a stepwise magnetic drive force to the movable body, the length of the axle between the wheels is so determined that a noise level peak frequency or resonant frequency of the movable body is sufficiently far from the predetermined drive frequency.

摘要： A cooling structure for a multi-cylinder piston-engine cylinder block includes a side coolant gallery distributing coolant into a water jacket surrounding a group of cylinders arranged from upstream to downstream. The flow cross-section of the coolant gallery decreases toward its downstream end. The water jacket has a water jacket wall which constitutes part of the coolant gallery. The water jacket wall includes a group of coolant inlets, each of which directs coolant towards the upper part of each of the cylinders. At least one coolant inlet is offset from the center of the corresponding cylinder toward a clearance between adjoining cylinders. This cooling structure can cool all of the cylinders uniformly and the entire surface of each cylinder evenly.

The mobile communication terminal displays the screen in the area of the transmitted positional information based on the transmitted screen data.

A tension mask made of a magnetostrictive material is used, the tension mask is stretched by a stretching force in a range maintaining the flatness of the tension mask, and the direction and strength of the stretching force are set such that vertical magnetic permeability of the tension mask increases, due to a magnetoelastic effect caused by the stretching force in the magnetostrictive material of the tension mask.
