    Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for MU-RTS and CTS are disclosed. An apparatus of a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) master station is disclosed. The HEW master station including processing circuitry configured to generate a packet to indicate a multi-user request-to-send (MU-RTS) and to indicate channels on which one or more HEW stations are to transmit a clear-to-send (CTS). The HEW master station further including a transceiver configured to transmit the packet to the one or more HEW stations, and receive clear-to-send responses to the packet on the one or more channels. An apparatus of a HEW station is also disclosed. The HEW station including circuitry configured to receive a packet that indicates a MU-RTS that indicates channels on which the HEW station is to transmit a CTS, and to determine whether to send the CTS.

    Abstract: An apparatus of a first high-efficiency (HE) access point (AP) or station for spatial reuse is the disclosed. The apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to: decode a first portion of a first packet; and if the first portion indicates the first packet was transmitted by a second HE AP or station and that the first packet is an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) packet, then if a preamble detect energy is below a threshold, cause to be transmitted a second packet simultaneously with a portion of the first packet after the first portion. The processing circuitry may be configured to determine the first portion was transmitted by the second HE AP or station if a field in a physical (PHY) header or a second field in a media access control (MAC) header indicate the first packet was transmitted by the second HE AP or station.

    Abstract: Apparatus, computer readable media, and methods are disclosed for sending feedback in a high efficiency service field. An apparatus is disclosed comprising processing circuitry configured to: decode a trigger frame from a second wireless device, wherein the trigger frame indicates a resource allocation for an uplink (UL) multi-user (MU) transmission for the first wireless device. The processing circuitry may be further configured to: determine feedback for a second wireless device based on the resource allocation. The processing circuitry may be further configured to: encode a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) to include a high-efficiency (HE) service field comprising the feedback in a physical (PHY) portion of the PPDU. And, the processing circuitry may be further configured to: configure the first wireless device to transmit the PPDU in accordance with the resource allocation to the second wireless device.

    Abstract: Cluster management techniques for wireless data links are described. According to some such techniques, a wireless communication device may maintain proximity information for consideration in conjunction with assigning NAN data links to NAN data clusters. In some embodiments, a wireless communication device may store proximity information for a given NAN data link in an NDL attribute associated with that NAN data link, and may store proximity information for a given NAN data cluster in an NDC attribute associated with that NAN data cluster. In various embodiments, two wireless communication devices may utilize/consider such proximity information in conjunction with assigning a newly-created NAN data link to a NAN data cluster. In some embodiments, two wireless communication devices may utilize/consider such proximity information in conjunction with transferring an extant NAN data link from one NAN data cluster to another NAN data cluster.

An apparatus is disclosed comprising processing circuitry configured to: encode a first high efficiency (HE) physical-layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) comprising a transmission opportunity (TXOP) duration field in a first physical-layer portion of the first HE PPDU. The processing circuitry may be further configured to set the TXOP duration field value to indicate a largest duration value representable by the TXOP duration field that is equal to or less than a duration value indicated by the first MAC duration field, if the first HE PPDU is to include a first media access control (MAC) duration field in a first MAC-layer portion of the first HE PPDU.

An apparatus of a wireless device is disclosed. The apparatus comprising processing circuitry configured to: determine a duration of a frame, determine whether the frame is an intra basic service set (Intra-BSS) frame, an inter-BSS frame, or an unclassified frame. The processing circuitry may be further configured to set an intra-BSS network allocation vector (NAV) to the duration of the frame, if the frame is determined to be the intra-BSS frame, and if a receiver address is decoded from the frame and the receiver address is not an address of the wireless device. The processing circuitry may be further configured to set a regular NAV to the duration of the frame, if the frame is determined to be the inter BSS frame or the unclassified frame.

    Abstract: A network communication device comprises physical layer (PHY) circuitry configured to transmit and receive radio frequency electrical signals to communicate directly with one or more separate network devices; and medium access control layer (MAC) circuitry. The MAC circuitry is configured to: initiate transmission of a packetized message that includes a neighbor awareness networking (NAN) public action frame; receive a data connection request message from a second network device that includes one or more quality of service (QoS) requirements; initiate transmission of a data connection response message that includes data exchange time window information and channel information; and communicate data device-to-device with the second network device according to the data exchange time window information and channel information.
