Abstract: A display apparatus includes a basement, a display functional layer, a first electrode, a guard electrode, and a detection controller. The basement has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The display functional layer is arranged on the side of the second surface of the basement. The first electrode is arranged between the basement and the display functional layer and detects an object in contact with or in proximity to the first surface. The guard electrode is arranged between the first electrode and the basement and supplied with a guard signal. The guard signal suppresses a change in capacitance generated between the first electrode and the guard electrode. The detection controller is a controller to which a signal based on a change in capacitance of the first electrode is output from the first electrode.

Abstract: A liquid crystal lens is formed with a first electrode formed on a first substrate and two or more second electrodes formed on a second substrate in a stripe pattern. Different voltages are applied to the second electrodes. The plurality of second electrodes exist at the boundary between a first liquid crystal lens and a second liquid crystal lens, and accept the maximum voltage of the different voltages. As a result, the liquid crystal lens can be moved in accordance with the movement of the visual line, the first and second liquid crystal lenses can be separated, and also a refractive index distribution of the liquid crystal lens can be close to a quadratic curve, thereby enabling to prevent the crosstalk.

Abstract: In a three-dimensional display device employing liquid crystal lenses, the crosstalk caused by disclination occurring in the liquid crystal lenses is prevented. The liquid crystal lens includes a liquid crystal of the TN type having a twist angle of 90 degrees, the liquid crystal being sandwiched between a first substrate and a second substrate. A first electrode in a flat shape is formed on the first substrate to substantially cover the first substrate. Second electrodes shaped like comb teeth are formed on the second substrate. Each of the second electrodes is formed on the top of a projection formed on the second substrate. Three-dimensional display is performed by applying voltage between the first and second electrodes. The second electrode may be formed also on side faces of the projection. With this configuration, a three-dimensional image display device with less crosstalk can be realized.
