摘要: A radiation image data readout apparatus in which read out is performed so that a detected light quantity for each CCD element of each CCD sensor is set at a quantity below the saturation charge quantity of each CCD element, and the level of noise is reduced. The radiation energy stored on a readout-line of a stimulable phosphor sheet is estimated, and based on the estimated quantity of radiation energy, a controller sets the readout conditions, which are formed of the charge accumulation time of the readout line and the binning conditions, and readout is performed by a line sensor according to these conditions.

摘要: An image signal representing radiation image information on an object stored on a stimulable phosphor sheet is read out by scanning the stimulable phosphor sheet with a stimulating light beam and photoelectrically detecting light emitted from the stimulable phosphor sheet upon stimulation thereof by a photodetector having a photoelectric surface. A variable transmittance medium whose transmittance to the light emitted from the stimulable phosphor sheet upon stimulation thereof is variable continuously or stepwise is inserted into the optical path of the light between the stimulable phosphor sheet and the photoelectric surface of the photodetector. The transmittance of the variable transmittance medium is changed according to the amount of light emitted from the stimulable phosphor sheet upon stimulation thereof so that the photoelectric surface is not saturated by an excessive amount of light impinging thereupon.

摘要: A laser diode pumped solid state laser is provided with a first temperature control circuit which controls the temperature of the laser diode to a predetermined value and a second temperature control circuit which controls the temperature of the resonator of the solid state laser to a predetermined value. When the solid state laser is in a steady state, an automatic power control is carried out for keeping the light output of the solid state laser at a reference output value. When a predetermined command is issued, the automatic power control is switched to an automatic current control for keeping the electric current flowing through the laser diode at a reference current value. A temperature of the laser diode at which the light output of the solid state laser is maximized is detected while changing the temperature of the laser diode, and the first temperature control circuit controls the temperature of the laser diode to the detected temperature. A temperature of the resonator at which the light output of the solid state laser is maximized is detected while changing the temperature of the resonator, and the second temperature control circuit controls the temperature of the resonator to the detected temperature.

An antifuse film is formed in a manner to partially cover the insulating film and contact with the barrier metal layer of the first electrode with the opening therebetween. The antifuse film is formed of silicon nitride whose nitrogen/silicon atomic composition ratio ranges from 0.6 to 1.2. A second electrode is formed over the antifuse film and comprised of a barrier metal layer serving as a barrier against the Al.

摘要: A stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image has been stored, is exposed to stimulating rays, which cause it to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation. The light, which is emitted from the front surface of the stimulable phosphor sheet, and the light, which is emitted from the back surface of the stimulable phosphor sheet, are detected respectively with two photoelectric read-out devices, and two image signals are thereby obtained. The two image signals are added to each other in a predetermined addition ratio. A change of the addition ratio with the passage of time is compensated for by detecting predetermined reference light with the two photoelectric read-out devices, two reference signals being thereby obtained, calculating a representative value of each of the two reference signals, two representative values being thereby obtained, and utilizing the ratio between the two representative values for the compensation for the change of the addition ratio.

摘要: A logarithmic amplifier for preventing an abnormal output from occurring when receiving an excessive input. The logarithmic amplifier is provided with an operational amplifier for logarithmic conversion purposes and a feedback circuit for feeding back an output from the operational amplifier via a resistor connected to an output terminal of the operational amplifier. An element (for example, an element consisting of a Zener diode and a diode connected in series with each other) having an effective resistance which becomes smaller when a voltage above a predetermined value is applied to the element is connected in parallel with a resistor connected to an output terminal of an operational amplifier for logarithmic conversion purposes.

摘要: In an image scanning apparatus, a recording material is scanned with a laser beam having been produced by a semiconductor laser which oscillates in a single longitudinal mode at any given time such that an image having been recorded on the recording material may be read out therefrom or such that an image may be recorded on the recording material. A single picture element read-out period or a single picture element recording period is defined in accordance with a predetermined picture element clock pulse. A radio-frequency current is superimposed upon a drive current for the semiconductor laser. The radio-frequency current has a frequency, which is higher than the reciprocal of the single picture element read-out period or the reciprocal of the single picture element recording period and which falls within a frequency range that does not cause the semiconductor laser to simultaneously oscillate in multiple longitudinal modes.

摘要: A display system for converting N bit signals, each representing 2.sup.N gray levels, to M bit signals representing 2.sup.M gray levels, where N is an integer larger than or equal to 2 and M is an integer satisfying N>M.gtoreq.1. Each of the N bit signals are separated into higher M bits and lower N-M bits. There are 2.sup.N-M tables, each of which stores a distinctive set of P.times.Q modification values satisfying P.times.Q.gtoreq.2.sup.N-M. One of the tables is selected using the N-M bits. Unequality between a first set of modification values and a second set of modification values of the selected table are detected. The first set of modification values and the second set of modification values are exchanged to generate a modified table of the selected table. The M bits of one N bit signal and each of the modification values of the selected table are added to generate a first set of P.times.Q M bit signals. The M bits of the next N bit signal and each of the modification values of the modified table are added to generate a second set of P.times.Q M bit signals. The first and second sets of M bit signals are provided to a display device of 2.sup.M gray levels.
