The UE will adjust the power according to the determined transmit power level adjustment and transmit each transport block using the adjusted power level.

In such transmission schemes, a different precoding matrix is applied to each orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) symbol in the transmission stream. Additionally, a downlink control message format is defined to handle assignment of multiple different transmission schemes using the same message format. The downlink control message format includes a control element in one of the message fields along with a set of parameters specifically applicable to the assigned transmission scheme. Based on the value of this control element, the UE sets the specific transmission scheme and determines a set of interpretation rules uniquely associated with that transmission scheme. Using the interpretation rules, the UE is able to read the set of parameters as applied to the selected transmission scheme.

Traditionally, HD operations may be linked to a particular frequency band which may not allow a mix of full-duplex (FD) and HD terminals in the same frequency band. Therefore, certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for enabling coexistence, in a given frequency band, of HD and FD terminals, by introducing frequency bands designated for HD operation and overlapping existing frequency bands designated for FD operation.

Paired downlink (DL)/uplink (UL) or many-to-one mapping communication can be established by common system information or dedicated signaling. In one aspect, a flag sent by system information or by dedicated signaling can indicate which means controls. Feedback can be configured for each carrier independently reported in a concatenated in frequency fashion, reported in a cycle in time fashion, or reported in a staggered in time and frequency fashion. Feedback can be reported jointly as one wide bandwidth. Feedback can be a single report perhaps reported on a data channel for more capacity or by cycled carrier/subband reporting.

A mobile device may identify a transmit power associated with each of a number of independently power controlled channels on one or multiple carriers configured for use by the mobile device. The transmit power may relate to one channel that is an uplink control channel, and one or more additional channels that are uplink shared channels. The identified transmit power of one channel (e.g., the uplink control channel) may be a virtual transmit power, while other identified transmit powers may be measured transmit powers for actual transmissions. The identified transmit powers may be added up, and the power headroom available for the mobile device may be calculated using the accumulated transmit powers. The mobile device may transmit a power headroom report to a base station.

Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate system frame number (SFN) indication and identification during a random access procedure (e.g., associated with a handover). As described herein, a target cell can configure one or more Random Access Responses (RARs) designated for transmission to a terminal during the access phase of a handover to include the SFN of the target cell. Techniques are further described herein by which the target cell can include SFN information in a sub-header associated with a RAR, in the payload of a RAR, and/or in other appropriate manners. In addition, the target cell can configure one or more flags of the RAR to indicate the presence of SFN information. Upon receiving a RAR with embedded SFN information, a terminal can utilize the SFN for operations such as frequency hopping or uplink resource configuration as described herein.
