Abstract:
The present invention is in the fields of molecular and cellular biology. The invention is generally related to reverse transcriptase enzymes and methods for the reverse transcription of nucleic acid molecules, especially messenger RNA molecules. Specifically, the invention relates to reverse transcriptase enzymes which have been mutated or modified to increase thermostability, decrease terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase activity, and/or increase fidelity, and to methods of producing, amplifying or sequencing nucleic acid molecules (particularly cDNA molecules) using these reverse transcriptase enzymes or compositions. The invention also relates to nucleic acid molecules produced by these methods and to the use of such nucleic acid molecules to produce desired polypeptides. The invention also concerns kits comprising such enzymes or compositions.
Abstract:
In a wireless power transmitter, a wireless power receiver, and a signal collision avoiding method disclosed herein, when a new wireless power receiver is placed in a specific area while the wireless power transmitter is performing communication with a specific wireless power receiver, the new wireless power receiver analyzes a response signal formed by the specific wireless power receiver through a listening mode, and transmits its own response signal at a collision-avoided time point, thereby allowing an efficient stable data communication.
Abstract:
A method for fabricating a large-area nanoscale pattern includes: forming multilayer main thin films isolated by passivation layers; patterning a first main thin film to form a first main pattern; forming a first spacer pattern with respect to the first main pattern; and forming a second main pattern by transferring the first spacer pattern onto a second main thin film. By using multilayer main thin films isolated by different passivation films, spacer lithography capable of reducing a pattern pitch can be repetitively performed, and the pattern pitch is repetitively reduced without shape distortion after formation of micrometer-scale patterns, thereby forming nanometer-scale fine patterns uniformly over a wide area.
Abstract:
Fusion proteins comprising a single strand DNA binding protein and a nucleic acid polymerase (e.g. DNA polymerase or reverse transcriptase). These high fidelity proteins are suitable for use in nucleic acid amplification methods, including the polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of analyzing user's behaviors based on a moving pattern of the user, and more particularly, to a method of operating a user information-providing server, in which behaviors of the user can be analyzed by providing information on user's emotion which varies depending on a moving pattern of the user, together with the moving pattern of the user, to the user or a counterpart. The inventive user information-providing server operating method provides information on user's emotion inferred using user's biological information obtained from a variety of sensors, information on a place where the user is positioned, and information on a counterpart, so that user's behaviors applicable to various fields can be accurately determined based on simple user's moving patterns and user information varying depending on the user's moving pattern. In addition, user's behaviors varying depending on the obtained counterpart information can be determined.
Abstract:
Provided is a wire grid polarizer and a backlight unit using the wire grid polarizer. The wire grid polarizer comprises a first grid layer thrilled on a substrate and provided with at least one of a first grid pattern, and a second grid layer formed on the first grid pattern and provided with at least one of a second grid pattern made of metal material wherein the first grid layer is made of high molecular substance having a lower refraction index than that of the substrate.According to the present invention, by forming a first grid pattern on a substrate using a high molecular substance layer and by forming a metal grid pattern on the first grid pattern, transmission rates of respective wavelengths depending on light angles of incident light are controlled and thereby minimizing color variations depending on view angle.
Abstract:
In a method of detecting an error pattern in a codeword transmitted across a noisy communication channel, a codeword is detected. A syndrome is then generated by applying a generator polynomial to the codeword. The generator polynomial is adapted to produce a distinct syndrome set for each of “L” (L>1) different error patterns potentially introduced in the codeword during transmission across the communication channel. A type of an error pattern within the codeword is detected based on the syndrome or a shifted version of the syndrome, and then a start position of the error pattern within the codeword.
Abstract:
A method and device for transcoding a first audio or video signal represented in one compression format to a second audio or video signal represented in another compression format. The transcoding is performed by direct mapping symbols from the first signal format to symbols of the second signal format. The transcoding can be performed between different formats or between the same format but with different bitrates. Such formats may be MP3 or aac.
Abstract:
A Post-Viterbi processor generates a plurality of candidate codewords based on a plurality of dominant error patterns for a particular communication channel. The Post-Viterbi processor selects one among the candidate codewords as a corrected codeword upon determining that the candidate codeword is error free.
